Well yes. Last year at each dinner we got a copy of a hard back book. One was David Limbaughs book, the other was BKO's if I remember correctly. Also, they have a nice line up of people, you can check at the CPAC site and see the line up from last year for the dinners to give you some idea.

It really is your call. I think the dinners are expensive and by no means are all the freepers there.

A Real American, Phyllis Schlafly will be honored at the banquet...

CPAC’s Presidential Banquet Will Honor Phyllis Schlafly on the 20th Anniversary of the Defeat of the ERA
November 14, 2002

ALEXANDRIA, VA –Conservative Political Action Conference Chairman David A. Keene announced today that the Presidential Banquet, to be held Thursday, January 30, 2003, at CPAC will be held in honor of nationally recognized conservative leader, Phyllis Schlafly, President of the Eagle Forum.

“Twenty years ago, Phyllis took on the liberal establishment and the extremist agenda of the so-called women’s rights movement,” said Keene. “Through hard work, political know-how, and adherence to conservative principle, Phyllis defeated Betty Freidan’s Equal Rights Amendment (ERA).”

“The ERA would have been a takeaway of rights from the most fortunate class of people who ever lived on earth—American women,” said Schlafly, confirming that she would speak at CPAC’s Presidential Banquet. “The coalition we built to defeat the ERA became the dynamic and successful pro-family movement that helped to elect Ronald Reagan.”

“On the 20th anniversary of that important occurrence, and the beginnings of the pro-family movement, CPAC is honored to dedicate the Presidential Banquet to the conservative movement’s founding mother,” said Keene.

Last year’s record-breaking CPAC 2002 drew more than 3800 attendees from around the world, and featured speeches, debates, book signings, and “meet and greets” with the nation’s leading conservative elected officials, pundits and celebrities. The conference was covered by more than 220 media outlets.

Vice President Dick Cheney is scheduled to open the 30th Annual CPAC at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30th, 2003.

CPAC is a project of the ACU Foundation, in association with Young America’s Foundation and Human Events. The conference is co-sponsored by over 70 of the nation’s leading conservative organizations. For continued updates on the program or to register online, visit www.cpac.org

“CPAC” is not a “political action committee (PAC)” as defined by federal law.  The conference name and initials predate the creation of those entities and is merely coincidental.

Are you aware if the student pass covers teh banquet? I have not been able to figure that out; the registration options are rather confusing. I keep calling the CPAC number but nobody is ever there.

It does, but it is auditorium seating, not dinner.

Here is that info re: CPAC hotel where my wife & I are staying:

My wife, Darlie, made our reservations at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, VA.

They had two exceptional rates - $ 77.50 & $ 109.00

The $ 109 rate includes a full breakfast buffet. This is not one of those continental breakfast, rather, bacon, eggs, fruit, drinks...everything.

As Darlie & I will be working at our 0cents.com Booth, we cannot break for lunch so a big breakfast is a must!

This is for a king/no smoking room.

This hotel has been totally renovated and offers courtesy van to the Pentagon Metro Stop and back to the hotel.

We stayed at the Jefferson Davis Highway Sheraton last year and were very satisfied but their best rate this year is $150 so we looked elsewhere.
