Hi y'all. Dio, just finished picking up my mail and guess what I found? Yep, my Early Bird Application and letter from CPAC!

MasonGal, if you want to network, pick-up great ideas, learn more about the conservative movement in this country and meet some really super people, then I recommend attending.

Besides the everyday movers and shakers in the conservative movement, you will meet some really great people in the form of FReepers. Let see if I can give you an overview of what I experienced last year as a first-timer.

The night before everything began in earnest we all met at the Merriott to register and see what was happening. I think there were about 20 of us that got together for dinner after we registered. A good many of the FReepers that were there are those I had already met at various other functions. One couple was there with their daughter and we were treated to this child singing two songs (sorry, I can't remember which ones they were)for us. She delighted us all with her voice and charm.

Upon arrival the next morning, I went to the booth and chit-chatted with Iron Jack, LurkerNoMore and MsAntiFeminazi (MAF) and helped in the setting up of the pictures. Bob and Dio were there as well as others.

While there I met a young man who was from Ark and introduced him to IJ for a possible interview (which he did). I met Jay Wolfe of West Virginia, who was running for office. I met Art Linkletter, Liddy Dole, saw Alan Keyes, goodness, there are so many that I can't remember them all.

The information that is available is enormous, both by networking and as handouts from the various booths. There were also people there to answer any questions that you had. I felt like a kid at Christmas, not knowing which way to go.

I spent a delightful morning talking with our favorite Congressman from North Carolina - Billy Bob. Chatting with Askel5, Rika Strom was there and I met xsmommy and others. We tried to solve the world's problems, but alas and alack, as you well know we didn't, sorry!

Abner and VOC were there with a toy hot air ballon that was the introduction to their Flag Ballon. The men enjoyed it and you could hear cries of "duck, here it comes again". I think the batteries wore out after a while (or else they were confiscated).

All in all, it is worth the trip, the time and money. I highly recommend it.

A little, but they lack the proper feeling and intonation.

DOH! The comment was addressed to me and I missed it.

If you check "post to you" in full view rather than brief you can see it. Poisonous lived up to she/he/it's name.

According to newsmax.com the Vice President is going to attend the conference this year. I checked with cpac.org web site and they do not have it confirmed yet.

OOH! That is good news. Outstanding.

If this is confirmed, people who were wavering about buying tickets to the banquets should do so, because that is where Cheney will be speaking most likely.

I'm experienceing a lot of confusion about the prices of the various tickets; which banquets included in which prices. I would like to know which ticket would cover the most events for the least amount of $$- IF I stayed with family and not the hotel. Anyone help me on this?

I just got an email from CPAC- it says that Vice President Cheney will be kicking off the event this year....
Here is the email-

ALEXANDRIA, VA - CPAC Chairman David A. Keene today announced that Vice
President Dick Cheney has confirmed that he will address the 30th Annual
Conservative Political Action Conference taking place January 30th -
February 1st, 2003 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington,
Virginia.
The Vice President will address CPAC on Thursday, January 30, at
12:00pm.

"Vice President Cheney has always been one of the most warmly received
speakers at CPAC throughout the years. We are honored to, once again,
welcome this great conservative back to the conference's 30th
anniversary," said Keene.

In addition to the daily speeches and informative panels with prominent
conservative grassroots leaders and Members of Congress, conference
highlights include the Thursday evening Presidential Banquet and the
Friday evening Ronald Reagan Banquet.

CPAC is a project of the ACU Foundation, in association with Young
America's Foundation and Human Events. The conference is co-sponsored by
over 70 of the nation's leading conservative organizations. For
continued updates on the program or to register online, visit
www.cpac.org.

Pretty cool...

Now no one has an excuse not to go.

Its hard to say because the line up for the dinner isn't up on their site.

The first year I went I didn't go to any of the banquets and it really is no big deal. You just don't want to find out later some one amazing is booked to do the dinner and it costs a considerable amount to buy a ticket on site.

I wouldn't worry too much about it though.
