I've detected way too much gloating up in here. It makes me uncomfortable and I wonder if it bothers anybody else.
I thank God the GOP did as well as it did, but I harbor no hatred for the opposition. For one thing, well, I just don't. I find it hard to hate somebody just because he'd pull a different lever in a voting booth. For another, if we did that, we'd be just like the worst, creepiest people we've seen in the Democrat party--the ones that held the Wellstone funerally or who passed out Oreo cookies to attack a black Republican in Maryland.
I can't stand that kind of hateful attack-dog stuff, and I want no part of it. The gloating I see here reminds me of it, and I hope that people will dial it back a bit, now that the first flush of victory has passed.
Or is it just me?
Hmmmmmmmm.....NO!
If you want to hear a bunch of feel-good, get-along, pap, go to a Barney site. Don't expect me to feel guilty over winning over a bunch of socialist, abortion-loving, race-baiting, homo-promoting, feminazi, tax-hiking, gun-grabbing, white-hating, Christian-hating, criminal-loving, Clinton-loving, hypocritical demons. If you can't handle it, take a break from FR for a few days.
Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.
When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
In otherwords God says have a good time and gloat freely.. we are right and protect the law, truth, and order from the party of liers
True, but laughing at the rants and expressions of misery from the DUmmkopfs might qualify. (Personally, I'd just call it a natural reaction to a ridiculous spectacle, rather like amusement at Groucho Marx as the leader of Freedonia.)
That said, I'd make a distinction between the DU fanatics and the regular Democrat rank-and-file who are honestly misguided. I wouldn't dream of mocking the latter (for one thing, it would make them defensive and less likely to reconsider their errors).
What a ridiculous statement! In case you didn't know, this was an election. Nobody here is holding a rally over a dead man's grave. We are happy over winning. The competition knew what it was getting into. Now, if that taxes your delicate constitution, this might be the wrong site for you.
You need to go over to the DU web site and do some opposition research on our opponents. These people have a visceral hatred of republicans, conservatives and freepers. We don't need to hate but we must not be ignorant of how we are viewed by them. They are evil. We must continue to defend ourselves and this Republic from evil; both foreign and domestic!
The Dems are commies or useful idiots the people in control want a totalitarian state you should hate them.
That was your error. Don't you know that turning on a turn signal means 'hurry up and get beside me so that I can't possibly get in front of you'?
I seldom use the signal anymore because the majority of drivers will do anything to keep you from getting in front of them. Just make sure you have plenty of room, change lanes and prepare the middle finger for the inevitable honk. It didn't used to be this way, but now drivers sit in the left lane going exactly the same speed as the person in the right lane, won't let you change lanes, will cut you off to keep from being passed and are generally inconsiderate and self-centered drivers.
Well...it got better after I griped about it...:-)
I want more of it. They don't deserve to be honored for fighting the good fight.
There was no other conclusion that made any sense. When that dawned on me it was like being hit with lightning. Now I view every election like it is a battle in a new civil war. God help us if the election process ever falters enough to convince a lot of people that the whole thing is fradulent.
