Henry county has already turned in their numbers, all precincts reporting according to APT.
Baldwin County was the last to certify all precincts reporting. Riley is now a little over 3,000 ahead will ALL precincts reporting.

If they had shown Siegelman the viewers may have been confused. What with all the oooz, they may have thought they were watching the x-files.

In Riley's acceptance speach he said that when President Bush called him he said "3000 votes sounds like a LANDSLIDE to me!". LOL!

LOL, I was typing as I listened to Riley's conference. I had missed that "3000 vote landslide" comment. Thanks for the laugh that I missed.

Actually I think the GOP was expected to win, which they did by a narrower than expected margin. The reporting to the press error was made by my county. It is a heavily GOP county so I can understand the Dems looking at this change very carefully.

Seems that area is sorta a black hole on the reportage sideYou speak the truth, more than you'll ever know. They could claim the tornado touched down and grabbed the Riley votes and carried them away. It's a little harder to throw precinct boxes into the Chattahoochee River like in the good ol' days. To our neighbors that responded last night to our disaster, a big Thank You. War Eagle, Hey!

Yee-Haw!!
I heard the proceedings on the local station (Mobile/Baldwin County) just before Rush came on. Great news. Siegelman will now pretend that the republicans 'stole' the election. This was a clear cut mistake in reporting and was witnessed by a lot of people. The incorrect numbers were reported to AP and Siegelman declared himself winner based on the AP report.
Riley is the new Republican governor and that will not change.

"It is a heavily GOP county so I can understand the Dems looking at this change very carefully. " I'll say. The Republicans got 69% of the vote there (Baldwin County). This is the same county (Last Election) that kicked out every Democrat in the whole county at every level. Every elected office in the whole county is held by the Republicans.
For you out-of- staters, Baldwin County is a bedroom community to Mobile on the east Bay. Like Marion County is to San Francisco, except conservative.

"***I just wonder why the Alabama Governers race as received ZERO national TV coverage. Seems like a very interesting story. Close race. Republican Win where a Dim was expected to win. ...why no coverage?" Because the LIBERAL media doesn't like EITHER candidate. In contrast/comparison to the Democrats in the media, both Riley and Seigelman are "right-wing gun nuts".
If Seigelman wins, then the media is stuck with a Democrat who was endorsed by Charleton Heston and recieved an A+ rating from Gun Owners of America (the only Democratic governor to get that rating).
If Riley wins, then it is yet another example of Republicans beating Democrats on their home turf.
Since the media loses either way, they simply don't cover it.

Henry County sounds like my kind of place. The less in the news the better, I say. Congrats on kicking your "yellow dog" off the poach last night. We did the same here in Georgia. Oh yea, we'll be seeing you in Jordan-Hare in about a week and a half for our annual tet-a-tet. Until then good luck and take care.
GOOOOOOO DAWGS!!

I couldn't believe how Georgia voted yesterday! Y'all got rid of several "yellow dogs," Tom Murphy included. Hope you can make it to the plains for the best rivalry in college football, IMHO. Promise not to turn on the sprinklers:>)

"My husband and I were just saying the same thing about lack of coverage on the national news. Does this speak to our significance? This should be being followed."
just to let you know that in OUR hearts and OUR minds, Riley's win is GREAT NEWS.....well done Alabamans!

And a BIG REPUBLICAN VICTORY - ROLLLLLLLLLLL TIIIIIDDDDDEEE BACK AT CHA!! :>)
To: au eagle
I was so blue last night (even with all the other election victories) when Siegelman said he had won with a 10,000 vote margin. His BullSquat speach was just so sickening to listen through.
But then Riley came on, I was really impressed with his poise. Just like the time I had went to hear him in person, he just commands a great calmness. I think Riley has a very level head on his shoulders. He will serve Alabama well.

BIG REPUBLICAN VICTORY - ROLLLLLLLLLLL TIIIIIDDDDDEEE BACK AT CHA!! :>) Smile, Thanks RetiredArmy, I think that Alabama Senator Barron (head of state Demos in Ala. senate) did alot to turn Auburn Fans against Democrats. He stacked the board at Auburn and has made quite a few enemies.
I remember Siegelman last night made fun of our president. He said there were alot of people with 50,000 dollar photographs with the president that made a bad investment. That hurt more than anything.
Goodbye Singleplan lottery man.
You will not be missed.
