A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day....11-06-02 How Sweet It Is!!

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

HOW SWEET IT IS!

She flies the Florida Flag, and flies it as proudly as she does Old Glory. Below is a recent photo of JulieRNR21 with Katherine Harris, taken at a neighborhood coffee for Ms. Harris' Congressional Campaign. Julie is very active in helping to get, and keep, the Republican candidates in office.

The above was taken from our Spotlight on Julie on July 2, 2002. She has worked so very hard on both Ms. Harris' and Jeb Bush' campaigns, and oh, how sweet the rewards. This morning some of us received an email from Julie, and it was so special I asked her if I could share it here with all of FR. She said yes, and how sweet it us, Friends:
Dear Family & Friends:
As you probably know I'm a Republican who would 'walk over glass' to vote. Well, I've got sore feet today, not from glass but from fire ant bites.
Those nasty stingers got me yesterday when I stood with other dedicated GOP volunteers at the busiest intersections in Sarasota waving signs for JEB and Katherine Harris.
How sweet it is......Clinton, Gore & McAuliffe targeted Florida to defeat JEB and Katherine.....they lost and we won.....big time. Our President put his reputation on the line and campaigned hard for our candidates.....Americans responded by giving him the opportunity to break through the Daschle Senate stonewall!!
Last night we attended the victory party for Katherine Harris at the Sarasota Hyatt. As the evening unfolded...the good news just kept coming from everywhere. All the grassroots 'get out the vote' efforts certainly produced the results we were all hoping for!!!!
I had the chance to tell Katherine Harris: 'Two years ago the Democrats tried to destroy you for following the law. Tonight we sent them a message by sending you to Congress!' She gave me a bear hug and kiss on the cheek and tears filled her eyes!
Then I asked for her autograph on my sign....the one I was waving when those pesky fire ants got me! The sores & swelling will go away in a few days.....but I'll always have that permanent momento of our decisive victory!
Clintonism is dead! Praise be to God!
Viva DUBYA!
Viva JEB!
Viva KATHERINE!
How sweet it is!!!
~Julie

I just had morning coffee with Flyer, who was passing through town.

If he says I can't make coffee, believe him.

If I say I'm a person of few words, he will tell you not to believe me.

Flyer took pictures of Wienie so I hope that you all get to soon see my recovered from poisoning best friend.

Wienie loved Flyer.

Thank you for the on-site report, Cobby.
Can just imagine you making clear you were there to see that the laws of Texas were followed to the letter - and making the officials friends before the day was over..:))

We all are celebrating this day that America can move forward to perhaps realize its potential for greatness.

Furthermore, we acknowledge the hand of God upon the land, and praise and honor Him!

COB,

You have no idea the good you did on election day. You have shown a group of Democrats that Republicans are not an evil bunch that wants to cheat them out of their vote. Small inroads like this are what will make the difference in the long run, not desk pounding BS rhetoric.

Well done my friend, be proud of yourself.

Congratulations JulieRNR21 and thank you for everything you did in Florida to help bring in the votes for the RIGHT!

There you are Lady! I missed you yesterday, we had a BIG win in Georgia...got a new Governor and Senator!

Way to go COB! Thanks for taking care of business! You even got some bar-b-que for your efforts. Now that's some justice.

After last night, it looks like most voters agree: the democrats are scary, extremist, left-wing, and above all, negative.

Thank you Rep. Dickie Gephardt and Sen. Dashallhope for your leadership! You two deserve most of the credit for this wonderful election, so forget about your Presidential plans for 2004!

It will be fascinating to compare ALL the polls with the actual election results.

I have two major complaints with polls:
1.) Pollsters poll only whom THEY think will be probable voters.

2.) According to the pollster Zogby, 60 percent of those polled refuse to be polled.

Thus, the "3 to 5 percent error" that is so commonly quoted by "The Media" is an error of sampling PRECISION, while the error for ACCURACY is at least 60 percent!

Good morning Billie.

It is a joyous time for us. FReepers can take much credit for the success, but there is no point upon achieving success that we can lean back and relax. I went to bed late and awoke early--with a smile on my face. The coffee tasted especially good this morning. I think I'll toast all of you with a fourth cup. God bless FReepers everywhere.

Coby, thank you SO MUCH for your detailed report as a 'poll watcher' yesterday - loved the colorful way you presented it more than anything! But appreciated the fact that you learned much from the experience, too. Quite sure that we are all guilty of 'painting with a broad brush', but it's a habit not easily broken.

Mornin', Billie. What a great day! Here in Minnesota, Mondale loses, we get a Republican Governor and the Dems are falling like flies in the State House and Senate. I'm so happy I might even be civil to you today. :-)

What a great "after action" report. I do think that there are many honest well intentioned, although misguided, democrats out there. Sounds like you showed them that conservatives aren't the "evil right wing nuts" the spinmeisters portray us as.

Every day I say a little prayer of thanks for people like you who never let us forget those who fought and died for us. I'm so glad you post these memorials here every single day. You are appreciated more than you know by so many of us. Thank you for choosing the Finest for your tributes to your fellow helicopter pilots.

Thanks for the excellent report, the insight, and your service at the polls.

I enjoyed using the new machines, but I also enjoy pointing and clicking as you know. Everyone had best figger them out, because the President has committed 48billion to purchase more of the creatures.

A blessed day for everyone passing this way.

Now that IS music for jubilation, Aqua!
Yesterday the Finest thread was so slow it still hadn't loaded all the graphics after an hour's time.
I gave up, and went to vote - to the next town to shop - and stayed up until after 0200 just enjoying the story unfold!

Prayers for America were indeed answered, and we need to keep praying without ceasing, and working hard for her.

What a wonderful night! I was glued to the voter returns thread until 4:30 a.m. and woke up at 8:30 smiling. Even Jay Wolfe's 37% against Rockefeller money and with no GOP help, was a good sign for WV's future. We picked up some GOP seats in our state offices as well. We re-elected Shelly Moore Capito (R) to Congress. I'm so happy for the people of Florida. What a referendum for our President and repudiation of clinton sleeze. I can't hang around as I've got to go out for the afternoon. Later all.
