A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day....11-06-02 How Sweet It Is!!
JulieRNR21 and Billie

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

HOW SWEET IT IS!

She flies the Florida Flag, and flies it as proudly as she does Old Glory. Below is a recent photo of JulieRNR21 with Katherine Harris, taken at a neighborhood coffee for Ms. Harris' Congressional Campaign. Julie is very active in helping to get, and keep, the Republican candidates in office.

The above was taken from our Spotlight on Julie on July 2, 2002. She has worked so very hard on both Ms. Harris' and Jeb Bush' campaigns, and oh, how sweet the rewards. This morning some of us received an email from Julie, and it was so special I asked her if I could share it here with all of FR. She said yes, and how sweet it us, Friends:
Dear Family & Friends:
As you probably know I'm a Republican who would 'walk over glass' to vote. Well, I've got sore feet today, not from glass but from fire ant bites.
Those nasty stingers got me yesterday when I stood with other dedicated GOP volunteers at the busiest intersections in Sarasota waving signs for JEB and Katherine Harris.
How sweet it is......Clinton, Gore & McAuliffe targeted Florida to defeat JEB and Katherine.....they lost and we won.....big time. Our President put his reputation on the line and campaigned hard for our candidates.....Americans responded by giving him the opportunity to break through the Daschle Senate stonewall!!
Last night we attended the victory party for Katherine Harris at the Sarasota Hyatt. As the evening unfolded...the good news just kept coming from everywhere. All the grassroots 'get out the vote' efforts certainly produced the results we were all hoping for!!!!
I had the chance to tell Katherine Harris: 'Two years ago the Democrats tried to destroy you for following the law. Tonight we sent them a message by sending you to Congress!' She gave me a bear hug and kiss on the cheek and tears filled her eyes!
Then I asked for her autograph on my sign....the one I was waving when those pesky fire ants got me! The sores & swelling will go away in a few days.....but I'll always have that permanent momento of our decisive victory!
Clintonism is dead! Praise be to God!
Viva DUBYA!
Viva JEB!
Viva KATHERINE!
How sweet it is!!!
~Julie

I LOVE that expression, Texas girl!
As you know, we don't say a lot in Texas so we had to have an expression that conveyed our deep respect and love for another person or persons without a lot of flowery phrases.
To tell someone that they're "good people" in Texas is the highest compliment you can hand them.
Thank you very much.

Please allow me to say that you and NoMoreDemofascists and the younguns are "good people" in my book, too!
I'll be happy when y'all come home!

Julie, I have to tell you that when I heard JEB and Katherine both won in Florida I immediately thought......oh, how happy Julie will be! And when your "How Sweet it is" e-mail came in yesterday, it just made my evening. This is truly a great day for America. So many celebrations going on across the country.

Unfortunately, Simon didn't win his race for Governor here in CA and I am afraid it spells disaster for our poor state. I would give anything to be able to move us and our business out of this state.

But, I don't want my grumbling to ruin this celebratory thread, so back to the good news! I am elated that we have taken the Senate. YIPPEE!!!

Billie this was a great idea to use Julie's e-mail as our feature today. It is perfect!

Dittos to everything you said. It is a bright and beautiful day all across America......except for CA. We didn't have the opportunity this election to boot out our two Senators, although considering the liberal strong holds of SF and LA, I'm not sure we could have anyway. And, in Sacramento, it looks like it will be the same ol' same ol' for four more years. I am loosing faith that we can ever get CA back on her feet.

But, enough whining. I am so excited about us taking contol of the Senate! That is wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL!!!

I see the hand of God in that decision to send me to Precinct 392 in Houston, Texas. I have a bad habit of stereotyping people, and He showed me that I was wrong.

God has a way of doing that. :-)

Thank you, COB, for volunteering your efforts towards insuring a fair election in your precinct. Bless you for all you do.

Yes a black day for California. One of the commentators last night said that Davis is the most disliked of all governors. Perhaps at the end of this 4 year term he will be out of politics. Surely the rats will see that he is not a viable presidential candidate. Yuck...
