We lost Ark. We won Ga, Minn and Missouri. SD is too close to call and there will be a runoff in Louisiana.

The only Dem Senate win was Arkansas -- Prior over Hutchenson.

Republicans held on in New Hampshire (Sununu) and Colorado (Allard).

Democrats lost in Georgia (Chambliss over Cleland), Minnesota (Coleman over Mondale), and Missouri (Talent over Carnihan).

SD is too close to call. Thune leads over Johnson by about 780 votes. Five precincts left, four indian reservations.

LA goes to a Runoff.

Senate is 51-46-1 with 2 undecided.

Republicans will remain in control of at least 26 governorships, including a stunner in GA, where Roy Barnes lost to Sonny Perdue.

Democrats have 19 Governorships.

The jury is still out on five (Alabama (Dem leading, but really close, Oklahoma (Largent losing), Oregon (Republican trailing, still close), and Arizona (Dem won, but not called)). Vermont, Republican won, but did not get 50%, goes to state house, which I think has Republican majority.

Talent does NOT get seated immediaely despite so many reports to the contrary. His term can not be longer than 6 years.

He will fill out only 4 years of Carnahan's term. This is still technically Mr. Carnahan's term. So another Senate election in 4 years for this seat.

Just an update on Alabama's governor race - Siegelman (D), although claiming victory last night in a Gore-like victory speech, will probably lose the race due to an incorrect count reported from Baldwin County (that's blam's neck of the woods). Even more like Gore, Siegelman will more than likely demand a recount.

Lets hope the Republicans are hard at work trying to flip Zell Miller. Every little bit will help here.

Well, I tried to hold on until SD came in, but it will be counted again anyway. I must hit the sack and check out the insides of my eyelids.

Wonderful day, just a wonderful day! Goodnight all.

Seigleman currently leads by a little over 3,000 votes but his Baldwin County numbers were over reported by almost 6500. THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY BALDWIN COUNTY, the numbers will be changed when the Probate Judge certifies them this morning. This would give Riley somewhere around a 3000 vote lead.

BUT, Etowah and Marion counties have not completely reported, plus I don;t know the status of absentee ballots

As of this morning - Siegelman camp says they will win by 5-6000 votes even after Baldwin reports the correct numbers

Riley Camp says that after all are counted they show a 2500 vote Riley win

Bottom line this one will go on for a while. NOTE: Alabama has NO RECOUNT LAW. Any recount must be requested by COUNTY, and MUST BE PAID FOR by the requesting candidate.

I loved McCauliffe's spin -- blame it on 9-11. Claim victory with the governors because you have a majority of the electoral votes... They can never admit they got killed.

Good news on AL. I hope Sielgelman loses.
Anyone have an update on Oregon gov?
