I think the key word there is idiots. Don't you remember "Clinton deserves (oral sex) just for keeping abortion legal"? They honestly believe that the Clintons are godlike beings.

Plus, they're already working on new cheating tactics. Expect a big push for internet voting before 2004.

It might be just as well that Simon didn't win. I suspect that as unpopular as Davis is, Simon would have been even more unpopular. GOP needs to run a better candidate next time. One more unpopular term of Davis may be better for the GOP in California in the long run.

Gotta agree with you there. The fiscal policies of Davis will have to start dragging California down sooner or later. Better to have Doofus there when it happens.

Still would have liked to see a Simon upset.

If SD does go with Johnson, I hope the new Senate slashes all pork to that state. The only reason they stuck with Johnson was the expectation of keeping Daschle in power and raiding the treasury. They gambled, they lost, and now they have to pay up.
