MSNBC: PEGGY NOONAN DEFINES "CLINTON THUD": Everywhere Bush visited, his candidates got bumps; everywhere Clinton went, his candidates went DOWN! HAHAHAHAHAA! Let's not forget about the last two years of third party slogans on this board. Night after freeping night they would chant -- "not a dimes worth of difference...blah, blah, blah-blah-blah.
So what did happen to all of the noise the third parties were going to make tonight -- *peep*.

Coalition government ( where fringe parties have some sway / say ) can NOT be installed in the USA; the FFs saw to that. They did NOT want a parlimenatry system here. The FFs thought that there should be NO parties ; however, after the debacle, after Washington, they saw that a two party sysrem was THE way to go and the rest is history; as they say.
Other countries, even those " modeled " on our system, don't really have our sytem. That's the simplified answer.

Jim Jeffords can now JUMP into the pit he dug for himself. I know Rush said not to get puffed up, but I'm definitely gonna celebrate. Prayer does work, doesn't it?!!!

Clinton isn't a Republican. He couldn't make the cut.
He's a Democrat, a member of the party where you can be as sleazy and grotesque as you wanna be, and still have the sheeple idolize you in the morning.
I don't condemn Reagan, because (at least as far as I know) he didn't screw around on his wife, and he didn't try to pretend that he was a champion of "values" while doing it.
Too bad: If you want to run as a conservative Republican, then you'd better not be a hypocrite. That seems easy enough for the simplest among us to figure out.

No, no; not yet. Wilson (R-NM) is behind 2,700 votes with only absentee votes left to count. CNN's report is wrong!

Speaking of McAuliffe, has anyone called his "Hotline" to report the fraud he tried to foist on us during his "Meet the Press" appearance on Sunday? I believe that he guaranteed a McBride victory.
Isn't the number 1-866-VOTE-411?
To: Garak
That is too close for human beings to stand.
To: Can i say that here?
Hate to ask, but what is the DU website address, I'd like to see them wiggle

"Is this true about MO law is it confirmed that the winner takes the seat immediately shifting the balance back to 50-50 in the senate."Yeah, but that won't do us any good. NRO has a great piece on this: The Senate's arcane (not to say stupid) rules mean that, at a 50-50 split, control of the Senate remains with whoever had it last (i.e. Daschle). Now, if Lott had had even a single vertebra, we could have used this to our advantage in 2000, but noooooo...
At any rate, the upshot is that 50-50 is the same as 49-51. Seating Talent immediately won't do us any goodunless, that is, the "independent" from MN decides to caucus with the GOP, which he might just do if Coleman hangs on to win. (There's also a reading of MN law that says Coleman sits immediately, just as in MO, but we'd have to sue to establish that and, being The Stupid Party, probably won't.)
The good news, though, is that if we do get 51-49 in January, which seems likely, then we're done. Even if Chaffee jumps then (which I'm certain he won't), we'll have already organized the next Senate, so a 50-50 split leaves us in control. So keep on praying for a win in MN, SD or LApreferably all three!
