He did good. Brokaw was all friendly to him, which I didn't expect. Maybe even Brokaw can see the FoxNews model turning the tide in his proffession. :) Rush didn't really say anything he hasn't said on his show, cept for the "Maybe this new tone thing works!"

Talent holding his own.

Carnahan still needs just over 63% of the remaining vote to pull this off.

He did great. Was very gracious, pointed out nice things - was NOT arrogant at all. Talked about how the economy was linked to security and to the Iraq issue. He also gave advice for the republicans: 'Don't Gloat'. Execellent job - he is less arrogant on TV than on radio.

Fox has Heather Wilson down by 3200 votes with all precints reporting but hasn't indicated a winner. I think there were like 110,000 votes.

Can absentee put her over the top.

Thanks!! I'm glad you got to party with a winner tonight! I found out that being at a losing campaign party isn't near as fun. Everyone left early :(

But THIS has well made up for my early disappointment.

Well I am calling it a night. Talent is starting to extend his lead, Allard has picked up 2% in the last 30 minutes, and Thune has taken the lead in SD. That coupled with the WH seeming assuredness that Coleman will win .. leads me to a final count of REP 52 DEM 46 IND 1, with LA runoff to come.

Great job REPUBLICANS, we have Done it. The Presidency, the House, and the Senate are ours -- Now let's do some good for this country!!!!!

Over on the Missouri threads, the number crunchers are showing Talent too far ahead now for Carnahan to catch him. Looks like the Senate is ours tomorrow.

13% of St. Louis city not in yet, nor Lincoln county, but there is still 13% of Greene county yet to come in too. I think we did it!

LOL. It's the answer to PRAYER. IF we get the Senate, we need to hurry. I don't know where you'll concentrate, but I am going to immigration/illegal aliens/ this FLOOD of people just swamping our Country.
Some, which I support, are going to get rid of that damnable partial birth abortion. Whew. Just the THOUGHT that might be possible makes me giddy. :)

The Libertarian Party has been saying what you wrote about shaping the debate since I was a libertarian some 25 years ago. During this period they have remained mired at around 3% of the vote nationwide and have had almost no discernible impact on the nation's ongoing political debate.

As one who likes to see my ideas yield results, I wouldn't call that acting on rational principle. I'd call that being unable to cope with the give and take of the political arena and being more interested in winning sophomoric word games than being held responsible for the logical consequences of one's electoral behavior.

I have come to conclude that the Liberatrian Party is nothing but a collection of the pseudo intellectual utopian wierdoes of the right. Like the socialists who are the bane of the Democrat Party, Libertarians are famously inflexible, they jeer at the intellectual capacity of those who dare disagree with them and they are convinced that if only the rest of the fools in the world would turn power over to them, they could build what would be be close to an earthly paradise.

And that is why I finally grew up and became a Republican.
