Gov. McCallum (R) is going to lose.
Republicans will PICK UP the Senate.
Republicans will HOLD the assembly.
So having a Dem for a Governor doesn't matter!!!

Thanks for the explanation. So corruption and greed helped do him in. Good.
Could be a double win for me. If I move back to Georgia, that would be a beautiful place to buy a dream lakeside home amidst the pines!

...Frankly, I don't care if Freepers or whatever see this post. They will live to rue this day, because we are all in this together. So, I have Christian charity for my Freeper Brothers and Sisters. You have brought evil and you love and revel in it to us with your leaflets in your churches and your ideas about how people should live. History will prove you wrong Freepers. But, we will view the battlefield tonight, pick up our wounded, bury our dead and we will move on. But, you won't know or see where we've moved until we strike.... koko *snicker* "Koko" needs to go to Baghdad for a while to learn how to write some REAL over-the-top flowery battle rhetoric. This little speech makes me visualize some gaunt, bearded ex-hippie shaking his fist.
Here's a new DU post:
I am beyond despondent
As I head off to bed tonight it will be in the knowledge that we were swept in Ohio and probably lost the Senate. When I wrote about what was at stake in this election I meant it. I honestly doubt I will ever cast a meaningful vote for federal government again or atleast for several years. The federal judiciary is literally a lost cause assuming that the trend holds up. That combined with the permanent tax cuts that will soon happen will create a death spiral for liberal activist government. The government will be too broke to pass the programs and even if they do the conservative activist judiciary will overturn them. We will be doomed to the unsatisfying experience of cleaning up the Republican mess as a best case senario.
I also know that civil rights for anyone be they gay. black, Hispanic, or women will be a dead issue on the national stage for many years. I will probably entire my golden years as a second or even third class citizen. I had such hopes when Clinton won and Tsongas ran on a platform of gay rights. I can't believe that was only 10 years ago. Now I can't see even the most basic of rights coming to pass. In Ohio it is even worse if that can be imagined.
I would love a drink now but I know I can't. I will wake up tomorrow and the next day and the day after that. I will go to work, get my car fixed, and do other normal things. I will care again someday soon. But now I just need to pout and sulk. I will work for candidates and issues but tonight I sulk.

For certain, we need to start a dump Lott campaign.Look who suddenly sounds like a Bushbot.

Coleman will wrap this one up by 3AM cst. Here in sunny California, Simon and Davis are neck-and-neck at 46% each with 21% of votes counted. Turnout is reported to be "light" in Southern California, which is good for Simon if GOP turnout was fairly strong. Simon has a chance. It ain't over until it's over!

Does it? I can't remember, it's been so long since we've suffered such humiliation. In fact, have we ever, as long as FR has existed? November '98 was close, but even then we were a lot more civil in our comments.
It's tempting to sign onto DU to twist the knife in some, but I'll resist. No telling what that'd spark. I thought I saw a thread there accusing us of a Denial Of Service (DOS) attack. No need to give them ammo. They're shooting themselves in the foot just fine without my help.

In other strange news, it appears that Republican Kevin Mannix is beating his Democrat opponent by about 8000 votes with 51% or so of the vote counted. Mannix has been trailing in the polls during the whole campaign.
