Just voted. Turnout was pretty good (Zionsville, Indiana), despite awful, rainy day. My precinct is very Republican, and I was happy to help send Steve Buyer (one of the House Managers) back. I did not sense a lot of passion at the polls--more like a sense of duty. Not the level of energy I had hoped to see, but then, this isn't the McVey-Carson 7th District (very heated) or the Minnesota Senate race (where the Wellstone fune-rally blasphemy likely energized voters). C'mon, folks--every vote counts. PLEASE VOTE!!!

Just finished voting! What a nightmare. First, once I entered my booth, I looked at the non-partisan ticket. I'm not familiar with a lot of the judges, but my daughter is. She is an attorney and works with a judge and spends a good part of her time in the City County Bldg. (Detroit) My little district, a suburb of Detroit, is pretty much Democrat, so I went to make my protest vote. :) Anyway, I asked my daughter a question and a woman came over sticking her finger in my face and telling me to close my ballot, (before I even spoke to my daughter.) I told the woman to get her finger out of my face and asked why I couldn't ask my daughter a question? "The Dems do it, and more, all the time," I said. Haha, she had to laugh. She told me that I would be written up in some type of book, that I asked someone a question. She also said that if someone from the city saw me asking my daughter "who to vote for" that they would get in trouble. Has anyone ever heard of something like this?

Voted here in Wisconsin a couple of hours ago. There was nobody in front of me...not sure what that means. Voted straight Republican, of course!

Voted by mail (Oregon) last week. Straight Republican tickets for both hubs and I.

There is an nteresting measure on the ballot. It is the 'trend' here in Oregon, for a sitting Judge to 'retire' prior to the end of his/her term when there is a Dem governor. The Gov. then appoints a replacement, and even if it is only a couple of weeks before the election, the appt'd Judge becomes the Incumbent (and 99% of the time is the only one on the ballot) and easily wins the election. A Judge's political party is NOT listed on the ballots either. This practice has led to VERY leftist state courts.

One of the measures we are voting on here is to add "None of the Above" to the list of judicial candidates. This should help put the kibosh on this dirty little trick.

I voted this afternoon in western Pennsylvania. After saying "Hey mon" the rastafarian type guy holding a Rendell sign, I went in and was number 279 which is a lower turnout than usual.

It was a very boring ballot. My congresscritter (Phil English) was unopposed and there are no senate races in PA this year. Voted all republican and left saying "hey mon" once again to the rastafarian guy.

Not that Kalifornia matters much this time around.. Voted straight republican ticket for Gov. (and the other various offices) at 7:00 this morning. Only 1 other person was voting as well. Hopefully a good sign for Simon... We'll see...

I voted early this morning in world-famous Broward County. Unfortunately my precinct voting location was changed by Miriam Oliphant. Why was it changed? FOR NO OTHER reason than STRICTLY for the sake of change. Before I walked just a couple of blocks away. Now I have to drive about a mile and then go thru a maze of streets to find my new polling station located at a school. I hate it. The touch screen voting was sort of fun. However because Ms Oliphant (Broward Elections Supervisor) cancelled sending out sample ballots so she could redecorate her EXPENSIVE office, I wasn't able to see the candidates and issues ahead of time. Stupid move. Oh, and I thought Clay Shaw was our new congressman because of the congressional district map I saw but apparently he's not. Too bad. I wanted to vote for him since he is being challenged by Carol Roberts.

Mrs. Physicist voted also. We seemed to be the only voters in the place.

Fox is doing some dumb stuff though. I don't really care one way or the other about Wynona Ryder's trial. By the way, Rush Limbaugh is gonna be on MSNBC OR NBC with Russert and Brokaw tonight. I guess NBC is working on being fair and balanced. I may try to catch Rush a little tonight.

Voted straight "REP" this morning; glad I waited instead of voting early - big controversy over the early ballots - some idiot is likely to find a way to throw the early ballots out....

Bexar county, Texas always goes "DEM" though, so it's most likely a mere "protest vote" - we shall see - lines formed early in my precinct....

Hehehehe....and that doesn't even include our family members who are eligible to vote. Mr. Gun is not a Freeper, but he too knows how to vote correctly....as does my elderly mother (with a little assistance)!

AHA! I am trying to get my mother to take my grandmother who has alzheimer's to the polls. She never voted for a democRat in her life and she is Irish-Catholic and always hated what she called Boston-Irish Dems (Kennedy's) and such. I know with a little help she could punch Republican candidates straight down the ticket.

My mom is worried that it would be akward but I say poppy cock. It's imperative that we not waste this opportunity to toss Joe Davis from office.
