Just back from the old National Guard Armory, where polling is held. No lines, but more people than I have ever seen at this location.

The new touch-screen machines are simplicity to operate.

Other callers to local radio report heavy turnout.

I just voted here in Miami, Florida. It was the easiest thing you can imagine. I was in and out within four minutes. I had pre-read the ballot, but nevertheless it was quick & easy! No long lines, no confusion, no malfunctioning machines. Goooo Jebby!

Just got back from voting. I held my nose and voted Republican for Governor, Senator, and Representative, and Libertarian everywhere else possible. I regret doing this, but getting the Democrats out was paramount.

No Senate seats up for grabs here in Upstate NY, but big voter turn out.
We're from a VERY conservative rural area. (We get screwed by taxes paying for the cities social programs.)
I'm suprised to see how many people were out today. The Republican base is more energized than I thought!
The people were comming out much more than usual. Humph! I'm impressed!

LOL. Same here, lots of elderly people, hunched over the ballot, and still there after I voted and left. I just got back. I'm in North Florida. Hubby is a trucker, and voted absentee!

Oops. Forgot to mention...when I was there, the vast majority of voters present were elderly. Very depressing, to contemplate hordes of elderly in lockstep voting Democrats in so they can stay firmly attached to the public trough, bleeding the young white.

Voted Libertarian for Senate: wrote in Ollie North in place of Frank Wolf, since he broke his pledge of retiring after 6 terms...and a big NO on all the bond issues and the "transportation tax". Ditto for my wife. . .

Done!
Straight Republican Ticket. Only disappointed that I didn't get to vote against Julia Carson....(I thought she was my congresscritter, but I was wrong. She and her opponent wasted a lot of mailers on me!)

Polling place - No ID checked, just had to write last 4 digits of SSN. 3 high-school kids working the site. I was the only voter in the building. Not much going on there.

I hope you told Steve who to vote for. ;^)

I did back in '88! He was a bit of a environmentalist treehugger back then, but had no real convictions. I took him to the Republican Watch party in Austin to see Bush Sr. get elected and he was pretty well swept off his feet with the enthusiasm and decency of the others attending. He has gradually become a hard core conservative over the years. It was the last thing we discussed last night and the first thing discussed upon awaking this morning.

We're going to the Watch Party tonight, with jedis in tow! Woohooo!

Huge turnout here in Minnesota. Had to wait in line over 1 1/2 hours to vote. Normally only take 15 minutes. Brother also voted for Norm. He said he has never seen this many people at the polls. GO NORM!!! CRUSH THE OLD MAN!!!

Good Thread!

DuPage County - Naperville, IL. Voted first thing this morning (6:20am cst) Voted for each Republican Candidate separately. No option to vote party ticket. I think I was one of the first 30 people to vote. The voter books were awefully intact at that time.

I spoke with my Dad a while ago, and he voted also in the same area, different precinct, by 9:30am, 15% of his precinct had voted. That's good news! Wish it could have been more though. Most of the area is GOP, in both precincts.

Only this year have I started to see more Rat signs in yards and along the main streets. One of the worst things that could happen is if Blojevich were to become governor and Lisa Madigan to become Attorney General.... Both are from Chicago's Machine, and if they came to be, more of the requests of the City of Chicago would be and tough luck for the rest of the state. It would be more like Richard Daley and Mike Madigan would be governor.

I voted around 10:30, and my heavily Republican precinct in suburban Birmingham was extremely crowded. As I was leaving, cars were starting to line up on the highway to get into the parking lot!
