Just noticed this thread. I voted in the Oklahoma election at 7:30 this morning. I have never voted that early before, but it looked to me to be a good crowd. When my ballot scanned, I was number 140.

I abstained on the judges and the local bonds since I'm simply not well enough informed to cast an intelligent vote.

Turnout was pretty light compared to the other locations people are mentioning. I got there at about 7:15 and the four booths were in use, plus two in line including myself. Out of there in about 10 minutes.

There was one obvious Republican (with an American flag shirt) and I couldn't identify the party affiliation of the others. With my rumpled absent-minded professor look, people probably thought I was a Democrat!

Just voted in Houston TX. Wife and I both hit "Straight Republican". New machines are great. No line at all. About 8 people were in the process of voting. Had to tell a Dem campaigner to get behind the line. He was handing out literature AT the door. He acted stunned that I would complain. SOB GRRRRRRRRRR!

Had to vote for a Dem for one of the school boards, 'cause the Pubbie is such a scoundrel. He's run 3 different businesses right into the ground here in town, hasn't got the sense God gave a goose...oh well.

What's really interesting is that it's only 9:15 am in New Mexico, and I've already received three GOTV calls from the Republican Party. They've never called me more than once in the past. If this pattern holds up nationwide, the republicans will have a great turnout!

I voted a straight Republican ticket here in Diamond Bar, CA. I arrived at the polling place at about 7:20 am. In 2000, the line was out the door - today, I was only one of 2 people in the polling place - very quiet.

Voted No to all bond measures - although I'm sure they will pass. I think I'll sponsor a new initiative myself next year - the safe schools, safe water, cleaner air, less crime initiative - which will funnel $200 million of taxpayer dollars to me. It seems like the latest trend here in the left coast!

I'm concerned about electoral shenanigans here in New York City.

I sent in my registration before the postmark deadline. I received an acknowledgement in the mail, but it said my registration was only valid on Nov. 12... AFTER the election!

I went to my polling place anyway and voted provisionally, swearing that I had in fact sent in my registration form on time.

This is New York City. It's entirely possible that the post office and the Board of Elections are incompetent.

However, I also registered as a member of the Conservative party of New York. Is it possible I was denied on-time registration for that reason? Anyone know if NYC is known for that kind of problem?

Voted awhile ago in Akron, Oh....for Gov. Daft, and the whole Republican slate.

Fairly busy for a non-Presidential year, but no where near what it was like 2 years ago.

Amazingly, the Dem effort has been very weak this year.
