How could Kirk in a few days erase a 3 point Cornyn lead in Dallas to 24 point Kirk advantage. Dead voters, illegal voters, and multiple voters are all strong Democrats. Zogby knows this and factored it in to his predictions.

BTW, it never was about "straitlaced Christian conservatives," but about the fact that Republicans don't like hypocrisy (Democrats THRIVE on it--that's why Clinton & Ted Kennedy are such Dem icons).
It isn't so much that Hutchinson divorced, but that he did so after running a campaign championing family values--and then had an affair with a campaign aide, throwing over his wife for this "trophy."
That's gotta stink, no matter how strong your religious convictions are.

Yes, but it is fine with the people of AR that Pryor is not quizzed about the SS issue for the maid. People in AR want to vote Democrat, and they don't like to be confused with stubborn "facts." After all, how can we expect a state that voted for AR Bill EIGHT times to reelect a Republican senator?

what are the American people thinking
That's the problem, Impeach, the American people do NOT think. Thinking confuses them. They prefer to remain in essential ignorance.

I would imagine that Horace Greeley lost NY in 1872 too! And I know that James Buchanan only narrowly carried PA in 1856.

"He actually works for Sanunu, so I don't think he does public polling for NH. " Actually, I believe Zogby works for folks on both sides of the aisle, but he donated his services to the Democratic party. He's a Palestinian and I'm not sure the last few months of middle-east policy has really made him happy. It certainly pissed off his brother. Regards, cj

As I recall, "St." John Breaux trailed in the 1986 primary and then was the runoff winner over Republican Henson Moore. Moore was actually punished by LA voters because he made Democrat election fraud a high priority. People in LA do not like publicity over stolen elections. Now people in LA will "fight" you over Breaux, the way the Texans used to do over Lloyd Bentsen, and the way the Georgians now do over Zell Miller.

Allard will not lose. Period.

Wilson won NJ in 1912; perhaps he lost it to Hughes in 1916. When Wilson became governor of NJ, the faculty of Princeton were the happiest people in the nation for a while. They could not wait to get the stiff-necked know-it-all out of the university!

Hutchinson is an ordained minister.

OK, I'll say it again: to ignore Zogby would be foolish. But to assume he is 100% correct is even more foolish. Remember that he had Lazio up on Clinton very late in their Senate race in 2000, and the final numbers weren't even close. That's in his own backyard! Look at trends -- how are the R doing compared to the previous poll? From a cursory look, it appears we are OK everywhere but Arkansas.

Wayne Allard's name recognition isn't very high and in a state with 20% "new" voters that now call Colorado home, that works against him. Tom Strickland has never run for anything in his life. He was been US-AG under Klintoon and in the last few years, has represented some sleezy big money interests as a lawyer and lobbyist. Strickland is a party hack and a liberal to his soul.
With Gov Bill Owens set to collect over 60% of the vote, that means a big Republican turnout and that should get SenAllard over the top. Allard has done a very good job for the people of Colorado in the last six years and deserves re-election.

Thanks for info. I still only believe polls that reinforce what I already think!!!!

Actually, Strickland has run before. He lost to Allard six years ago. This is a rematch.

ZONGBY'S 401K SLANT Maybe I'm too wishful, but I think Zogby's 401K factor is too simplistic. I think most Americans with 401Ks realize that they got caught up in the "hype", "spin", and "con" of the late 90's with regards to stocks. They realize that they willingly bought into companies without doing their homework. These same folks now realize that nothing is for free and that their losses will be made up for in years and not in weeks. Furthermore, people recognize that there is very little that government can do to influence the economy outside of Greenspan and the fed rate.

Are Republicans in your area going for Sharp or Dewhurst?
To: VAGOP
I don't trust Zogby. Slants to the Left.
To: PianoMan
What concerns me is that the Republican base was suppose to have been fired up in 2000, and according to the formal returns, we lost the popular vote nationwide. The problem is that inspite of what the final polls show, the Democrats have exceeded their final poll numbers by their ability to turn out the dead, by their getting illegal immmigrants to vote, by turning out the "domestic pet vote," by turning out the welfare cheaters, by getting sympathetic judges to keep the polls open beyond official closing time to enable surrogates to vote on behalf of people in comas, and so forth.
