The Democrats were excited over this turn of events for Kirk in Dallas.

This election in my home-state of Texas is very strange this year. There are so many people that voted for Bush that are going to vote for Sanchez or Kirk. I have photograph of a large group from Tyler at the Inaugural Ball in DC, and there are a handful of people in there that I know are voting for Sanchez. Luckily that race isn't tight. But as for Kirk, he's popular in Dallas. Dallas is a huge voting block and tends to swing democrat b/c of the racial makeup.

I like Cornyn, and I voted for him, BUT, he's not the most charismatic person in the world. Back last Spring when he kicked off his campaign, I actually dozed off during his speech in Tyler. He's very smart, and very qualified for this position, but Kirk is liked by a lot of big money folks in Dallas.

That being said, I think Cornyn will pull this off, but it will be a lot closer than the Perry/Sanchez race.

"Coleman wins going away (after watching the MN debate twice, Mondale is unable to actually function coherently in even a senile senate)"

I'm sorry, what does this mean? Wins going away?

MN is elitist, labor, farm and then corporate players and the thousands supporting them. There's a lot of celebrity influence in MN because of the state's innate qualities. Greenies vote Dem, everyone else sick of the liberal stuff and vote for Ventura-types when motivated enough or stay 'independent' to avoid being 'characterized' or 'stereotyped'. Strong evangelical Christian base, which is the only reason, honestly, that I take work or vacation in MN. Without the lakes and Christians, it's just another Canadian mess.

An obtuse one.

Tim Robbins was put in solitary confinement for using that word.

Supposed to snow tomorrow in Taxachusetts. Please let it be a nor'easter. Nothing will help Mitt more than a cold, snowy night and a new episode of Bernie Mac.

Minnesota and Iowa were the frontier in the 1840's and 1850's, when the largest part of immigrants were exiles from the failed socialist revolution in Germany.

That's the hard thing to understand if it does come in as a close race... How can the same voters give Perry a 20 point lead and then swap and vote for Kirk? It really blows my mind..... We'll see what the final numbers are soon.

I think he means that Bowles will sue over something. (This habit of Freepers calling folks names really annoys me, btw. It seems to be a substitute for substantive thought. I find it infra dig.) You might get a phone call, now that you are geographically desirable. Isn't litigation wonderful? Of course, it is all BS, but whatever. Enjoy the fantasy.

I think the out of state rat population in Dallas has grown to the point that the city is becoming a cancerous cess pool of liberalism. City government is infested with them and has made the brag that Dallas should become so sophisticated and cosmopolitan that vistors should not be able to tell if they are in New York or LA. What a goal to have, ugh. I think it was last year that they banned gun shows in public facilities. Dallas is losing it's Texas identity.

Perhaps, but he lived happily ever after as a wealthy man with a chiquita bonita en la Baja.

You read wrong. Dallas and Houston combine for 40 % of Texas votes.

Jesse came out of nowhere in '98. I'm not from MN...I'm one of those much maligned residents just south of their border (just kidding, my MN friends).

I travel up there a great deal, so always pay attention to their politics. I'll take the PP Mason Dixon Poll over the Star Tribune poll any day. It looked like it was performed by a "market research" group that doesn't normally do polling. They went to great lengths discussing their methodology..and it's nothing like anything I've seen out of a regular polling co. like Mason Dixon.

Interesting thing here is:
1.If Talent wins, he gets seated as soon as the election is certified.

2. Gov. Ventura's appointment of Wellstone's replacement is on record as saying that Bush should have is judicial appointments.

Hence, it looks like 50-48-2 with each independent split repub/dem, the net is Repub 51-49, for awhile.

Time to put the lame duck Senate to work, change the committee chairs and put The President's judicial nominations to a full floor vote.

Thanks for the correction, I thought the number was pretty startling for one city.

The MPR/Star-Tribune Minnesota Poll uses very sophisticated weighting measures that always seem to produce the result that will sell the most newspapers.
