Yes.

The Dems have taken a permanent loss in support, because of the Debacle last week, but few seem to understand it, yet.

More than 1/4 of the Democrats I've talked to have expressed outrage, not with Mondale, but with the entire Democratic Party, National and State.

It's not just that Democrats I've talked to say they are upset when I ask. It's that life-time Democrats have sought me out to express their outrage, and their fixed intention to permanently switch parties.

This election is going to permanently damage the Democrats in this state for the forseeable future.

The 401K theory is hogwash. I do agree that the GOP could have more aggressively sought out the investor class with a capital loss provision, the elimination of double taxation on dividends, and a reduction in the capital gains rate BUT everyone knows that the Dems would never support any of these measures, let alone propose them. Investors support Republican policies by a fairly wide margin and the market is hoping for a GOP victory.

I don't buy the 401K stuff but that was his theory from a while back and evidently, he is sticking with it. He also has an anti-incumbent theory which is why he lumps them together.

It does seem that there is hope in MN...has anyone seen or heard any evening reports on reaction to the debate?

I read that Dallas accounts for 40% of votes state wide. Makes me wonder what percent Houston accounts for. The Democrats were excited over this turn of events for Kirk in Dallas. I want to yank that joy from them in the worst way and will do everything in my little power to do that very thing.

If we cannot give Republicans a solid, unquestionable win, we can count on the Texas elections being tied up in court by the demoncrats for months. We don't want to go there so all you lurker's out there, get to the polls.

Sheesh...I just watched some of the MN debate on CSPAN. There is no way in h*ll any right (no pun intended) thinking person would vote for Mondale. He looked and sounded terrible.

Coleman's gonna win in Minnesota. He's much more independent than Mondale, despite Mondale's insistence that he is an independent. Yeah, right Fritz.

Mondale went over the top with his "Norman" and "Your Vice President" and "Others are winning (Germany election) races with anti-American stuff (Fritz siding with Europe)" and "Your arbitrary pro-life..".

The condescending old failed liberal will not win. It will NOT happen.
Not if our organization has to drag tens of thousands out to the polls till the polls close.

If you look at the numbers. There is a GOP trend in CO, NC, SD and TX. The others show Dems holding, not improving. Hopefully this points to the general trend we have been seeing (or hoping). Where's KQQL when you need'm?

Was THAT the question? LOL. I suspect it was asked if one had a 401K after asking whom they were leaning towards.

Thanks for that optimistic post.

Coleman is on an all nighter as I type. 16 cities in 16 hours. Winding up in St. Paul at 6:45 am for a rally and then hitting the phones.

He said if he loses it's not going to be because he didn't work the hardest.

From Wash Times tonight: "Mondale led former St. Paul Mayor Norm Coleman by 5 points in the Star Tribune Poll, while the St. Paul Pioneer Press had Coleman ahead by 6 points. "

Why is/was Minnesota so liberal? It doesn't make a lot of sense. The demographics are on our side and most of them are educated.

Looking at the internals, there are some enormous swings among the independents -- as much as 20 to 40 pts vs "days ago. Some have swung to the Democrats, some to the GOP.

The huge nature of these swings, as in the Georgia Senate race -- "Cleland now leads among Independents (58% - 39%) when just days ago, Chambliss led (62% - 33%)." -- make it appear that Zogby's sample is very unstable.

Or, perhaps, that the electorate has itself become very unstable as we approach the finish. All of these are very fluid races, it seems to me.
