pass to all your bump lists !

Thanks.
Why November 19th, though? I read their website, and found no significance for the date. In 2000, it was encourgaed to buy guns on the day after Thanksgiving, the "busiest shopping day of the year". The point would be that the Feds themselves would see how serious we were because of all the hits on NCIC. I wonder whay they didn't have "ammo day" on this day?

FROM FAQ on Website.....
Why November 19?
There is really no particular reason November 19 was chosen. It did not conflict with any other Holiday or event on the U.S. calendar.
However, we would me remiss if we did not mention that November 19 is the birthday of Kim du Toit. Kim couldn't think of a nicer way to celebrate his birthday than it helping send a signal about how the value of the Second Amendment and our ammunition manufacturing industry. And, if we make our target of 5 BILLION rounds sold, his birthday wish will come true.

Thanks for the pings !!

I am little embarrassed to say I do not own a firearm.
I just have never gone out and got one. Mostly because I do not want to register the thing.
Anyway around that legally?
What gun would you suggest for a first time buyer. I have gone shooting many times, but do not know what would be best for home protection and the principle of it all.

Try www.cheaperthandirt.com, they have some real good specials on .308 tracers right now. Tracers are great for the Fourth of July and New Year's.

I picked Nov. 19 for several reasons, in no specific order:
1.) it's my birthday
2.) it doesn't conflict with any holidays
3.) it's after the opening of hunting season, so any ammo sales couldn't be brushed off as the typical seasonal "pre-hunting" sales bump
4.) it's likewise before Thanksgiving because after Thanksgiving, it's all Christmas Christmas Christmas.
Just as a reminder, I get no financial benefit from this: my wife has pointed out that I could have bought a new rifle or two for what it has cost me so far.
Thanks for all the support -- tell your friends & family, and let's stick it to the gun-grabbers both local (eg. Schumer) and international (eg. the United Nations).
This is not going to go away: I intend to make it an annual event, and keep doing it as long as I possibly can.
Kim du Toit
P.S. To the NRA: thanks for nothing.

I recommend getting several 1000 round cases.

I suggest you go with something that you are comfortable with.. A revolver is good for starters.. Work you way up to a 9MM or .40Cal Semi-auto.. requires a little extra training to get comfortable with... You local gun dealer can help you pick the model that is right for you..
