The Minnesota Supreme Court will hear arguments at 11:00 EST (10:00 CST) on the status of absentee ballots in next week's election.
Minnesota Public Radio will carry the hearing live. You can hear it live here (click on "Live MPR audio stream" on the lower right). The Court's information officer said KSTP Television may be providing live coverage as well.
Please post what you see and hear, here.
Your attitude is so mid 20th century. You need to be re-edcuated into the new legal order. Get with the program.
Speaking of ballots not being mailed...I have heard about (I think) county clerks in Hennepin, Ramsey and maybe two other counties possibly sending out either replacement or supplimental ballots to those who have already sent in absentee ballots even before the DFL got their official nomination into the Secy. of State.
That's just so they can manufacture more votes, and if they still don't get enough, they'll file another lawsuit, claiming all the [Dem] voters without internet access were disenfranchised.
God I pray this does not turn into NJ.
Hatch kept saying they had to follow the law, but it was obvious he didn't like it much. He didn't really defend the law.
Equal protection is the current issue. "We can only do your best, but there is no provision in our laws that address the issue of not being able to get ballots back in time."
Gee--I don't know--the law seems so unclear on the matter of absentee ballots < /sarcasm >

I heard it the other way...my impression is that he didn't want the Court to mess with the statute, and that the law is what the law says. I've been wrong before, tho. :-)
But that would be so..so "mean-spirited"
Remember--you must think like a Rat
Well it will be interesting to see how their Supremes rule.... All laws can be contested and that's what they are doing. I hope the Court doesn't become an activitist Court and follows the intent of the Legislature, the peoples representatives.
Yes, every vote should be counted. But how the heck do you do it in only 5 days?
