Your post 5 -- Good call !!!
CNN is an untrustworthy, liberal controlled, propaganda operation.

I'm not giving Moose credit for catching them, so I'm not gonna slay him for weaknesses in the investigation.
Anyone who thinks Moose was running the show is simply naive. Dollars to donuts the FBI was calling the shots, and Moose got to play mouthpiece.
And for those people who think the last several victims' families have some sort of grievance against the cops: the cops did NOT kill anyone. Fact is, they appear to have caught the perps in a relatively short period of time. Now that info is coming out, everyone is freakin' Columbo in hindsight.....

or at the very least, not alerting the perps to the fact that the cops were onto them? Duh....I never understood this whole idea that the public should know everything the cops do as soon as they know it because that obviously means the bad guys know it too!

Plus, did you see any caprices being searchged at roadblocks? Considering how few 1990-era Caprices are still on the road, compared to the number of white vans and utility trucks, it would have been fairly easier for LEOs on the street to run down Muhammad. And they did - the day after this claim of an alert. The cops on the beat did their job - time and time again - but the leadership kept them running down the wrong paths. The fact that the leadership is now reduced to making this absurd claim reveals they are feeling a tremendous amount of heat.

Just to be clear, the duh was not aimed at you but at the members of the "Tell me everything NOW" crowd.

Fact is, they appear to have caught the perps in a relatively short period of time. Now that info is coming out, everyone is freakin' Columbo in hindsight.....Hindsight? A lot of folks on FR were raising questions all along. They should have been on the Caprice lead like flies on manure - but PC considerations kept them barking up the wrong tree. And maybe you can explain how an alert supposedly went out for the Caprice on October 7th - and then a cop spotted Muhammad sleeping in the Caprice on October 8th and let him go after a few questions, all the while with a hole in the trunk of the car - while white vans were pulled over wholesale. That dog won't hunt around here.

Dollars to donuts the FBI was calling the shots, and Moose got to play mouthpiece. You have a good point there - the level of incomptence and cover-up is much too high for a local police force. And given the FBI's recent track record of supressing un-PC evidence, this particular profile seems to fit the perps.

Maybe because they knew the caprice was registered to a black man and they were looking for angry white men. moose didn't want to hurt anyones little feelings.
To: dirtboy
Well the liberal CNN specifically said that the task force would not release the info.
If we dont improve LE tech we will not be able to solve this case the next time something goes down.
I actually had no problem with the initial profile.
But when the facts were ingored, that is what is bad.

In June, Muhammad planned sniper shootings of a gas truck, and a police officer. He also planned to bomb the police funeral. By September his plans changed to (random?) sniper killings.
So here are my collections of the facts and assumptions:
- THREE or more terrorists cooked up the plan to buy a used POLICE CAR and turn it into a killing machine.
- September 11 - Three of them buy the car and register it in New Jersey. The date, and the fact that it was a police car are both important to them.
Muhammad and Osbourne co-registered the car while another calls in a bomb threat at the DMV. - September 14 - The shooters try out their sniper car for the first time outside a Silver Spring, Maryland liquor store on a SATURDAY night. The victim survives, and the bullet is too fragmented to match with later shootings. No more sniper shootings occur there for two and a half weeks because the terrorists are out of town.
- September 14- Thinking they've killed someone at the liquor store, terrorists leave immediately for a planned two-week training at "Ground Zero" camp in Marion, Alabama. The terrorist training manuals teach shooters to lay down and fire backwards out of a vehicle (like a flatbed truck). with another person driving away slowly. This later turns out to be exactly the technique used around D.C.
- September 21 - While in Alabama, Muhammad and Malvo rob and kill at a Montgomery liquor store. Again, this is a Saturday night. A third terrorist assists their escape using the blue Chevrolet Caprice.
- October 1 - Terrorists drive all night to return to Silver Spring, Maryland, all pumped up to kill. They get rested at a safe-house, possibly at the Mohammed residence (apartment #5) at 3974 Bel Pre Road, [this is the same address as the last shooting]. Nation of Islam converts often change their last names to Mohammad, and the shooters know them to be sympathetic or co-conspirators themselves.
- October 2 - Terrorists spend the day planning their hits, and by 5pm start their shooting spree one block from the apartment, at the Michaels store. [Police should check if the store clerk almost killed had ever met John Mohammad, Lee Malvo, or anyone living at the Bel Pre apartments]
- Another shooting will later occur TWO blocks from the apartment, at a gas station.
- Police are convinced the shooters must live nearby, since so many shooting occur in close proximity and shooters know the area very well.
- The last fatal shooting will occur directly outside the apartment on Bel Pre road. Mohammad, who frequently rides busses in that area, probably knew, and has been angered in the past by the driver or one of his co-workers.

From CNN's website, scroll down to the bottom:
Washington, D.C., police issued a lookout for a Chevrolet Caprice spotted driving away from the scene of a fatal sniper shooting on October 3 in northwest Washington, D.C., according to a copy of the document obtained by CNN. But the Metropolitan (D.C.) Police Department said it chose not to release the information to the press because the press releases were being coordinated through the joint task force headed by the Montgomery County Police Department in Rockville.

Well, if you're looking for a hunt, why not start with confirming this balderdash about the Caprice alert on Oct. 7. Yeah, I can call up Moose and get a confirmation from him. /sarcasm Instead, I will take the claim and match it to the facts to see if they fit. In this case, they don't.

This guy has apparently had a long history of hatred for authority.

. But the Metropolitan (D.C.) Police Department said it chose not to release the information to the press because the press releases were being coordinated through the joint task force headed by the Montgomery County Police Department in Rockville. So Moose, or whoever was pulling his strings, kept the report bottled up. I simply do not buy their claim that they put out a bulletin for the Caprice the day before a cop found Muhammad sleeping in the Caprice - and let him go without a search of the vehicle. For cryin' out loud, they were pulling over white vans all over the Metro area and searching them - but a cop failed to search fairly scarce car like an old Caprice - ONE WITH A FRIGGIN HOLE IN THE TRUNK? This just doesn't make a lick of sense.

From memory, not a perfect quote:
Moose said when asked about the dark Caprice at a press conference on the 12th I think: "There's been more of a law enforcement focus on that, there hasn't been a big push for public feedback on it."
OK, fine...BUT THERE WAS NO LAW ENFORCEMENT FOCUS ON IT!
Question: Who was the mole on the task force sabotaging the investigation?
To: dirtboy
nope not a lick. Cant let unpleasant facts get in the way, can we?

Just to be clear, the duh was not aimed at you but at the members of the "Tell me everything NOW" crowd. I understand your point and no the pucblic doesn't have to know everything
But I would like the police that are out on the street to be informed
I maybe be wrong, but I read reports they weren't told but were told to keep an eye out for a white van/box truck that turned out to be false
That the numbers on the this car's plate were run through the computer 10 times
If this is all true .. IMO there needs to alot of explaining

Fl, this is a great job of documentation of the events and a probable time line of the critical events.
Thanks for your efforts and the ping!
