Snipers CAN'T get death penalty in MD!

Welll...guess what? According to the Baltimore County Prosecutor on the Ron Smith show, the Sniper CAN NOT get the death penalty in Maryland. Only "Mass Murderers" NOT "Serial Killers" are eligable. Go crazy and kill 'em all at once in the same place, you get the needle nap. Cold blooded, calculated, serial murder and terrorism gets you a lifetime of 3 hots, cablevision, and weight-room privileges. Go figure.

They may have to offer to let the kid walk, to get testimony. The rest would be circumstantial, even if a lot of people noticed the car. I think the white van connection was that the sniper just waited until a white van passed nearby, then he shot.

I believe, the reason the sniper acted the way he (they) did was due to "cover-up". The "word" was not getting out that this is terrorism. Witness LAX a few months back. A (damn) arab shoots up the Israeli airlines both. I mean, C'mon, what the hell are we supposed to thing? But Nooooooooooooo, It wasn't terrorist related. Witness our very own loving administration spouting off very soon after 9/11 that everlasting phrase; Islam is a religion of peace.

If the populace is not lied to, if it's not controlled, a bloodbath would result. Problem I see is, a boiler maker is in the mix. How many more Mohhamed's are we gonna take??

This close to election-time, he's in a no-win situation. He will most likely not lift it, and give the Demwits a huge black-eye across the country--or lift it, and enrage the Dem's liberal base nation-wide.

ANNAPOLIS, Maryland (CNN) -- Maryland Gov. Parris Glendening imposed a moratorium on executions Thursday until the state finishes a study on whether there is racial bias in the use of the death penalty.

Glendening, a Democrat, said he envisions the stay remaining in place "until the study is reviewed and acted upon by the legislature, which I expect to take about one year."

Glendening stopped the execution of Wesley Eugene Baker, who was scheduled to die by lethal injection some time next week, and said he would stay any other executions that come before him. Baker was convicted of a 1991 murder.

Nine of the 13 people on death row in Maryland are African-American, including Baker. During his tenure, Glendening allowed the state to go forward with two executions, but he commuted a third. The Baker case was the fourth such case to come before him.

I agree, the publicity/ego issue with these terrorists is not indicative of Islamist terror. However, I heard Mark Furman ask a good question tonight - how do these guys go from robbing a liquor store to cutting a hole in the trunk of their car and going on a terror spree? Didn't they indicate that the killings were about "more than violence?" Given the level of AQ or El Faruq (sp) in the PNW, and the possible connection to Farakhan - I am suspicious regarding their motivations. At this point though, it does not appear that these guys took orders from AQ leadership per se.

Just a question..but I don't recall any of the 4 planes that went down announcing anything in their last moments. I would have thought they would over the airline frequencies (FAA frequencies?). Even with other of their new founded planes in the air enroute, stil wouldn't have mattered at that point..

I would disagree with your conclusion, not your premises tho. I think the media is coordinating a vast cover up of Muslim organized terror, however I don't think the fear of retaliation against Muslims is realistic. If it didn't happen after 9/11, it will never happen. Americans, by and large, are not bloodthirsty or stupid enough to blame a whole group of people for the actions of a subset within that group.

I don't know what motivation the media has for this. Perhaps the evidence about Islamic militant conspiracies is so great they fear the public would go mad from paranoia were it to go mainstream.

The declaration of responsibility for terrorist acts was in vogue during the 1970s and 1980s. In the 1990s and anon this trend has been largely abandoned (especially for AQ). No one took credit for Cole or first WTC I bombing, for example.
