Overnite, two men arrested while sleeping in their car at a reststop in MD. John Mohammed aka John Williams and his stepson Lee Malvo. Mohammad is thought to be the likely shooter.

Actually...this was the attorney for ex-wife #1. And only the attorney spoke. She said that LEO has asked his ex-wife NOT to talk at this time while the investigation is on-going. She asked that the media not bother the family...and that the family was in shock. Apparently there is a 20 year old son.

Suspect was in custody on immigration charges

John Lee Malvo the Jamaican national arrested early this morning near Fredricksburg, MD in connection with the beltway sniper case, was in INS custody in Seattle on January 24, 2002. He was released on his own recognizance (no bond) and ordered to return for a hearing at 2:30 PM on November 20, 2002. He had been arrested on December 20, 2001, and was held for 30 days on immigration charges. Malvo is an illegal alien. Malvo is also wanted in Alabama in connection with a robbery and murder.

John Lee Malvo, one of the sniper suspects, had been in INS custody in Seattle and was released on Jan. 24, 2002 without a bond. He was ordered to return for a deportation hearing on November 20th. Malvo had been in custody for one month for immigration violations. He was released in the custody of his mother.

Malvo is Jamaican.

***Back early in my LE career our department had a modified, full auto AR15. I got to run through a couple of clips on that baby. I can tell you, I have shot a lot of guns, but there is something special about shooting an AR15 on full auto, through an entire clip.***

I have only been lucky enough to fire and UZI and MP5 on full auto, of course I was only 15 and sucked at shooting then. I'm sure I could fully appreciate it these days though. :)
