All seems quiet since yesterday's news the shooter may target children specifically. It was released on various news outlets the shooter's 3-page letter to police was in broken English and threatened extreme violence. Police announced an electronic transfer of $10m as requested by the shooter was not possible but other options for transfer remain open. No one seriously believes police will actually give the shooter $$, but police are trying to keep a dialogue open with the shooter in an effort to capture this monster.

Mornin' :) Reportedly that is one of the threats he made in the letter:

"The letter found at the weekend gave a deadline of yesterday for an amount, said to be around $10million (£ 6.47million) to be deposited in a bank account. It warned investigators that if they were more concerned about "stopping" the killings, they should follow his instructions precisely. Otherwise there would be more "body bags".

That's a bit dismissive. I've noticed how many folk have posted that view, however, the use of bad grammar and punctuation in a criminal communiqué is a known tactic to hide the existence of advanced education, and muddle up the style of composition thus making analysis and possible recogniton of the perp through his writing that much harder if not impossible. It's definately something to take into account.

OMG if he pops a newsperson there will be NO END to the caterwauling. They will make that person into a hero, martyr, saint. Perhaps moving documentaries about that persons relentless pursuit of the news. While it would be satisfying if he nailed one, the resultant gush would be beyond nauseating.

Sources told NBC News that the demand included a deadline and that Tuesday’s fatal shooting came after an earlier deadline passed without payment. Parents were particularly on edge after it was revealed that a note found Saturday stated: “Your children are not safe anywhere at any time.” October 23 — Schools in northern Virginia reopened under tight security after being closed for two days. Mark Edwards, school superintendent for Henrico County, speaks with ``Today’s’’ Ann Curry. THE REPORT of a new note came from The Baltimore Sun, which cited unidentified sources as saying police found it at Tuesday’s shooting in Aspen Hill, Md. I think this was mostly damage control after the somewhat heavy handed treatment of the two mexicans. He doesn't want to lose any potential sources voters.
