Let's keep a live commentary thread going again today. The FBI Tip Line #1-888-324-9800.
All seems quiet since yesterday's news the shooter may target children specifically. It was released on various news outlets the shooter's 3-page letter to police was in broken English and threatened extreme violence. Police announced an electronic transfer of $10m as requested by the shooter was not possible but other options for transfer remain open. No one seriously believes police will actually give the shooter $$, but police are trying to keep a dialogue open with the shooter in an effort to capture this monster.

Yep. Interesting. 1) Changing from 'singular' in his comments to 'plural' as well as 'singular'; 2) stated his fear of talking about physical characteristics (profile) out of concern for 'painting whole groups'; 3) direct comments to illegal immigrants, i.e. non-Americans in our midst and immediate back up on that policy by INS Chief Ziglar today within minutes, thereby establishing a nationwide policy. 4) now multiple searches around the nation and that have been ongoing.
And since when does anyone every remember a LEO wanting to refrain from profiling or describing before the press a redneck lone nut white person or aryan nation/militia type for fear of tainting a whole group of white Americans?
Put the pieces together.

YEs, someone just posted that its a former tenant who is of interest - military guy out of Ft. Lewis. (As if I knew where that is :))

And the dog (mine, not *you*) wants a walk. So much for eating dinner with my hubby with the TV off so we can talk about the day. I've asked him to build me a pull out shelf next to the computer my plate. To hell with togetherness. It's vastly overrated.

Very interesting indeed...

I was actually one of the few FReepers who tried to defend him, because we were obviously kept in the dark as to what was really going on. And although I was/am convinced he wasn't really in charge, I thought it was unfair to condemn him without knowing the whole story.

Have no fear, tubebender is here...How about this, the gun has been traced to the guy at the duplex but he had sold it to a _____ who may be the shooter.
Logic tells me the stumps were loaded into the Uhaul.

The first arrest in the case came in May, when Osman, 32--who "helped coordinate" the Bly camp, according to the FBI document--was taken into custody as he turned up for his citizenship interview in Seattle with U.S. immigration authorities.
A search of his Tacoma apartment turned up various weapons, military maps and field manuals, "instructions on poisoning water sources," papers by Abu Hamza, "and various other items associated with Islamic radicalism," according to a law enforcement summary. Osman, a Navy reservist, pleaded guilty to a weapon charge and is said to be cooperating, hoping to avoid deportation.

I don't know - it just seems really stupid that the sniper would give a stolen credit card #. It seems like he would know that number would be traced and maybe provide the police with additional leads. Either he is yanking our chain (another red herring), he is not so bright, or he is ready to be caught.

(don't have to shout at us!) Sorry. Mojo wire all fired up and all. ;-) Also meant to be tongue-in-cheek (er, hence Bueller) and get attention...would like to know where else this is going down VERY badly.
To: Mo1
Me too, I just shouted quiet also. :) Home OWNER gave FBI permission to search.
To: mystery-ak

Fort Lewis is an Army base at the south end of Tacoma... Not too far (5 miles) from this location. Lots of military live in that general area.
To: tubebender
How would they know what type of gun it is and who it was sold to?
