Let's keep a live commentary thread going again today. The FBI Tip Line #1-888-324-9800.
All seems quiet since yesterday's news the shooter may target children specifically. It was released on various news outlets the shooter's 3-page letter to police was in broken English and threatened extreme violence. Police announced an electronic transfer of $10m as requested by the shooter was not possible but other options for transfer remain open. No one seriously believes police will actually give the shooter $$, but police are trying to keep a dialogue open with the shooter in an effort to capture this monster.

Someone knows who shot into the tree. If the bullets match, they know who shot in DC. Perhaps a former neighbor of landlord called the tip line and said "I used to rent to a nut who talked about how he could hold the city hostage with a single rifle." I am speculating of course, but it would explain the significance of a tree stump 3000 miles away.

That the neighbor is a really nice guy, former military, but she assures us he is a really nice guy and has been home the whole time recently.
They hauled away big things in a uhaul... I think that was the stumps.

Glad you are here - valleygal!!! -
As I have said many times - in my 4+years here - FR has been there for me so many times - prayers and support. Also - when I need a few laughs -I can think of many times when I have laughed so hard from posts made here - that it brought me to tears.
FR is full of wonderful folks - just like you.

The shooting started Oct 2nd. The indictment was dated Oct 3rd. They found ONE SINGLE .223 casing among their weapons cache.
In NY, the cell knew before it was taken down that they were going to be arrested and had a chance to come in on their own so it is likely that the guys in Oregon also knew before.
Boy, I hope this isn't another wild goose chase and winds up like the phone booth scenario.

Just said the same thing. And with Moose's comments to the immigration community today, I wonder if this has something to do with them.

The search in Tacoma was being conducted at a duplex in the 3300 block of South Proctor Street near the Tacoma Mall, a quiet residential neighborhood. Both sides of the duplex were apparently occupied and police were able to search without a search warrant presumably after getting the consent of the occupants. The search began after investigators in the D.C.-area shootings called local FBI agents and requested their help.
Fire fighters work to cut up and ultimately remove a stump. Authorities told KING 5 News that they were not looking for bodies, but instead were investigating the background of a person who may be tied to the shootings. They said they did not believe that the person or persons involved in the shootings had relocated to the Northwest.

I remember it alright, I even have the exact quote;
October 22, 2002
"We remain concerned about the safety of all the people in our region,"
"We realize that the person or the people involved in this have shown a clear willingness and ability to kill people of all ages, all races, all genders, all professions; at different times, on different days, in different locations."

Hell, I'll go stand on the border MYSELF with my gun.
To: valleygal
Yes, valleygirl. Fox is reporting search warrants are being delivered throughout the country. It scared me but remember it could be a lone nut and they are searching previous residences.

FOX saying they have heard the snipers voice undisguised one time.

Perhaps the alibi'd neighbor has a troubled son/nephew/friend?
