The search in Tacoma was being conducted at a duplex in the 3300 block of South Proctor Street near the Tacoma Mall, a quiet residential neighborhood. Both sides of the duplex were apparently occupied and police were able to search without a search warrant presumably after getting the consent of the occupants. The search began after investigators in the D.C.-area shootings called local FBI agents and requested their help.
Fire fighters work to cut up and ultimately remove a stump. Authorities told KING 5 News that they were not looking for bodies, but instead were investigating the background of a person who may be tied to the shootings. They said they did not believe that the person or persons involved in the shootings had relocated to the Northwest.
Former resident of the duplex? FBI looking into the background of a former Fort Lewis soldier.
