Won't make this too long here just throwing out an idea here. The cops were watching this pay phone booth yesterday. 2 illegal immigrants pull up to it and we know the rest of the story. I came up with a theory today that I wanted some opinions on. I am thinking that the 2 men a Mexican and a Guataemalen were probably very common user's of this pay phone. Most illegal immigrants resort to using calling cards to call their homeland and usually early in the morning or real late at night depending on the time change of their country to the U.S..

The sniper cell is obviously traveling in different cars here. Maybe having cased a particular route everywhere there are white vans. These guys are watched for a couple of days and he sees that they use this payphone and have a truck fitting the description. Remember calling cards come up or are traced back to the number of the company that issues the card. Only then can the company trace back to what phone booth a call is made from.

So the sniper cell leaves a message from that phone number days ago after the 6th or 7th shooting. The law finally gets the number down and the message from the tips line as calls 8 and 9 come in. The cell demands money for an offshore account. The law tells them we can't do that for you today.

Is it possible that the offshore account was blackmail or extortion to an account that would funnel much needed money to other cells or an organization that found the means to use this money for funding operations? Ala Al Qaeda which trained in these very things? Electronical terrorism...and a host of other things by use of computers and banks.

I truly believe we are in the next wave here and the color chart is still sitting at code 3. Truly showing how useless it is. Al Qaeda and its supporting groups have had its money stripped from them for the most part and choked off. Is this the new means of getting money? They most certainly trained for this. They most certainly made these threats on our childred over the last year. They have most certainly trained for Urban Terrorism.

We have seen the CNN videos captured from Afghanistan. We have been warned of these types of attacks and methods. Yet, our government is trying its best to distance itself from terrorism. They will not show a picture of the missing French soldier who specialized in sniping so to say.

A French terrorist you say? Well who is sitting and playing our government in VIRGINIA like a fiddle? Moussaoi...the 20th hi-jacker.

Still don't think it is terrorism or Al Qaeda related? Prove me wrong...or add to this thread. Explain to me why the accent and the spelling of these notes is screaming of coming from a foreigner not familiar with the English language.

Prove me wrong or give me a reason why it is not Al Qaeda or terrorism FreeRepublic.com.

Why do I feel as if this country is protecting a certain group of people in this country right now because if the truth came out...the government would lose control of the population and the rest of the population would take matters into their own hands.

God how could we ever do that? Actually fight the war on terror on the home front.

Fred this is the first I have heard your version. I have only heard there is and was no connection between the illegals and the sniper. I am sure the press would have run with your version all day long.

I think this terrorist/shooter is pretty devious. The extortion thing may be just a ruse to give the authorities something to do while he plans his next shoot.

If this is Al Qaeda, they know what electronic tranfers are possible (and the FBI knows they know). I thought I heard that the authorities said they can't make the money transfer as requested, but maybe I missed something there.

We ain't getting no evidence from anyone. I'm going by Moose's statement: telling the shooters to call the number they provided in their message to him at the Ponderosa.

It's crystal clear to me what happened. Of course I'm not waiting for the cops or the media to reveal the truth. I think per loin posted a very credible scenario that could dupe the undocumented workers to call that number.

Also, why have these two hard-working dudes been turned over to the INS? Why isn't there a picture or a brief interview with them? They are being muzzled and kept out of the public eye is my contention. I'd like for some investigative reporter to interview them for two minutes....the truth would come out. But that's not allowed for the time being. That's okay, I pretty much know what happened.

The guy is only a 2LT so he hasn't been in the service too long. Doubt he has advanced training in much of anything.

I got my first bb gun at 8 years, pellet gun at 10, .22 at 12, 12 gauge at 14, .30/06 at 16 and person at 19 from 700 yds. Age has nothing to do with it.

With all due respect. I always have liked your posts and thought you have made some sense for sure at times but you provided nothing as far as evidence. I will just go with the assumption you gave me your opinion on this and thought it is/was bunk. Which is fine. The INS was finally doing their job imo. I agree the speed of it all was something for sure. However, when was the last time you saw reporters going in to interview illegals who are being deported for being just that..illegal?!?

I will come back to this thread when all is said and done and if you are right I will stand corrected. Either way it is all theory.

Rather than argue whether it isn't al Qaeda, let me ask you this: If it IS al Qaeda, why is it only happening in the one area? If I were part of a terrorist group, I'd want the maximum impact of having this same panic going on in many cities, like LA, Miami, Chicago, NYC, Detroit, etc.
IMHO, it's another Son of Sam, slightly different modus operandi. Some of you will remember how long it took to catch him, and it also took a major break in the case, if I recall correctly.

You're SEVERAL years behind me in your shooting age. What I was saying is that he is not a trained French Army Sniper, at this age and rank. Please read what I said not what fits your life story. Besides that, this shooter is not that good a shot anyway. His targets are standing still pumping gas, unlocking cars, standing in a bus door, or walking straight towards or away from him.

Why haven't they shown any of the handwriting from the note(s?)? Why haven't they shown the tarot card?
They showed the anthrax letters. It makes me think they're keeping something important from us.
Also, the "Your children aren't safe anywhere at any time" comment took my breath away when I read it. He/they didn't just say "Your children aren't safe", which makes me think that there will be more shootings in more areas of the country.
Just sharing thoughts on the situation.

The telephone number triggered the LE reaction, not the phone booth. Ask those two young guys, they'll tell you the truth.

Maybe the writing looks just like the Anthrax writing? I mean the message could be taken in so many ways here..."YOUR CHILDREN" how many ways can you take that? As well as them not being able to understand the voice and an accent. Also, dear policeman......c'mon..ya'know? Methinks there is a lot of covering up here.

Obviously can't ask the 2 illegals. However, the cops were staking the phone booth out. The officials stated there was absolutely no connection to the case. What would be the motive or purpose to not tell us or hold onto them longer and get more info and a description of the sniper or snipers who sent them to the phone?

We get and give out descriptions all the time with crimes,murders, and kidnappings. Why not now of all times?

A pickup truck allows you to hide and shoot in the prone position. The prone position is also the most stable position to shoot in this situation.

Panel or box trucks draw to much attention from the cops. At this point the cops are searching ALL of these vehicals!!

If you want to throw off the cops, what better way to go thru a road block than to have a PICKUP TRUCK with painting, or landscaping equipment under a black tarp in the back with a handy place to hide under.

The coyotes that smuggle illegal aliens across the border use this trick. DC and local area police are not on to this one! This ain't San Diego!

If the cops are looking for a van type WORK vehical and IF I'm hinding under a tarp, I'm gonna get waved thru. The cops want the area cleared as soon as possible.

This is my theory

#1 This is trrorism. Simple deduction: Occums Razor, we are at war.

#2 There are at least 2 moslems working together. The other guy is the calm getaway driver and lookout. It is too difficult to concentrate on the target AND look out for your self at the same time. The trigger man concentrates on the "long distance". The driver/watcher concentrates on the "immediate area".

#3 A shooter is laying in the the prone shooting position in the back of a covered pick up truck. Shooting thru a peephole in the tailgate.

#4 They always park the truck with the bed facing the target. Its not camper type cover, that would draw attention from the cops. They are looking for a van.

#5 The lookout gets out of the vehicle and not only watches the surrounding area. But tells the shooter when its clear to pull the trigger via cell phone.

#6 The bed of the truck has a flat canopy. It is well insulated to keep the sound at a mininum. The direction of the suppressed sound is difficult to pinpoint.

#7 After the shoot, the driver calmly goes back to the truck and obeying the all traffic laws drive away while listening to the police chatter on scanners. They may even have a team to hand off the weapons to in another vehical.

#8 They might even be blond haired blue eyed moslems from Bosnia

How this is going to end:

An armed citizen is going the hear the direction of the gunfire and charge at it with a pistol. This guy charging with pistol is either going to kill both perps or die trying.

OR:

I believe that there is a terriorst cell bickering among themselves weather to keep this a "strickly" religous jihad or make some money out of this deal.

The note was left near the scene of the last shooting with out the knowledge of ALL the perps imvolved. There may be 4 or more.

The 1 or 2 indeviduals who want to make some money out of this sniping are going to get the WHOLE terriorist cell busted out of greed and stupidity.

This is going to be a comedy as soon as it pans out. Thats why every one is confused at this piont and media speculation is rampant.

The phone number on the note was for that phone booth the cops staked out and busted the nitwits.

Maybe these 2 guys were the greedy ones or the 2 left in the dark by the greedy ones.If the perps do not get caught soon, terrors cells all over North America are gonna start adopting this method and the body count is gonna go thru the roof. It's going to spread FAST. This proven method will spread. NYC and Miami will be next.

This is not some NUT NRA member. Which is what the media want it to be. The feds think we will panic like sheep if we are told it's terrorist.

The media is pumping the lone "angry white male" gunman to re-energise the anti gun movement. The liberals love this lost cause SO MUCH that they will lose every seat in the Nation for it. Election time is near and the Dems don't have an issue.

D.C. Police and F.B.I. are avoiding giving a description of the perp because "he is an Islamo-fasist terrorist of mid east descent and do not want the heat from liberals for PROFILING.

I was telling my wife this morning that the actual note said nothing about money but instead was asking for the release of the prisoners at Gitmo. I just saw on Yahoo that the US is going to release some of the prisoners. I think someone on FR last night wrote something about some cleric's son being held at Gitmo.

Found this somewhat interesting. Looking through my latest shooting supply catalog and came across an add for Federal .223 NATO Spec ammo. The add claims, "This ammo is the very same ammo being used by the U.S. troops in Afghanistan." Coincidence? Probably.

I think your reasoning may be very close. In any event, unless something happens that radically changes my opinion, I am inclined to think that it is ME terrorists and have thought so pretty much since the beginning.
