Here's the reality: there are no good numbers, worth relying on, reporting the number of alleged burglaries to the number of arrests made to the number of convictions.

The best you can do is 'about 40% of felony burglary arrests result in felony convictions'.

That's flunking however you slice it and dice it. It's better to get smart and protect your property and person yourself.

Whether it's foreign terrorists, domestic terrorists or both, the bottom line is: this is terrorism.

Two possibilities hit me: 1:) the letter was planted later by somebody else hoping to cash in, which is why police didn't discover it at the scene until a tipline call led them back to the scene of the shooting.

2:) It's an extortion scheme, the success of which depends upon the effectiveness of the terror tactics, a la the rash of plane hijackings in the '70's which involved monetary demands, or the much more recent tactics of Abu Sayyef in the Phillipines.

I agree with you...either way, there WILL be more of of these incidents, and the media highlighting our soft underbelly will just embolden the psychos into trying more often and harder.

I believe his very lack of a pattern is a pattern...and IMO, no, he wouldn't say no to a nice fat payoff by "Mr. Policeman", whom he already feels superior to.

I think the police should cancel/stop all press briefings with the media. They are just being used. Either quitely pay this guy off or stop letting him manipulate us. Take this venue away from the sniper/terrorist.

Oh I get it. You think that the government is on the side of freedom.

No, the government has done a thorough job of preparing the domestic population - for take-over by the power brokers. They have systematically disarmed, feminized, castrated, ridiculed, medicated, marginalized and demonized those who are able and willing to resist.

They have told us that wide open borders are a great thing, and refusing to accomodate every illiterate, disease ridden, impoverished parasite that demand food, clothing, medicine, shelter, education, and luxury are signs of greed, selfishness and hate on our part.

They have prepared the children and young adults to believe that western values are not worth fighting for, that God is dead, that everything is relative, that good is evil and evil is good. That we should be kinder and more accomodating to members of the "religion of peace" than to our own family members because we don't want to offend murderers and terrorists and their rabid supporters.

They have prepared us to fall asleep on the sofa while the last brain synapse fires during Beavis and Butthead, and Sinfield reruns. This way we won't notice how bad we are being raped and robbed - in fact we will appreciate it and demand more of the same treatment.

That the most important thing in life is the Miss America pageant and football games, we are told that preparing for the future and self reliance is foolish and selfish, that we should have our children raised by the village.

So when a product of decades of this kind of behavior modification finally takes aim on the people, the "men" are busy drooling over the Coors Beer ads or are ducking behind a wall while their wives are pumping the gasoline.

The government has prepared us well for an easy takeover. And in a few weeks, the sheeple will give their vote of confidence to people who neither earned it nor deserve it

Just keep paying taxes, and the hegemony of parasitism will continue unabated until this nation becomes the worthless polyglot that the power brokers demand.

America has turned from a melting pot to a chamber pot that is filled with people who neither understand, value, nor deserve freedom.

If someone came up with idea of setting up active armed neighborhood patrols made up of homeowners and businessowner, crime would radically drop - and the government can't have that. It needs crime and chaos so that they can continue to confiscate and seize money and property of the producing class in order to squander on patronage and mercantilism.

But Amercians, by and large, would be too inconvenienced to actually take rotating shifts with their neighbors to sit and watch for criminals. Instead, they gather together and gleefully vote to spend their neighbors money on salaries of massive and ineffective bereaucracies that promise much and deliver nothing.

I think "Mr. PoliceMan" is Chief Moose and "Your Children" is in reference to Chief Moose saying kids should go to school because its safe a few days ago.

Peanuts in the scheme of things. Pay him off quitely, as another freeper mentioned and maybe he will go away. It will buy time to find him anyway. It is probably costing more than that an hour to keep up with this guy.

He doesn't sound very American to me, either. That might be deliberate misdirection...but my gut feeling is that it isn't. I wish that Chief Moose would just constantly remind ciizens to look for suspicious activity, especially while on the road...and in a moving vehicle, instead of implying that citizens just sit tight, don't change their routines in the slightest, and wait for the nanny state and the police to take care of you, 'cause THEY know how BETTER than you.

NOT AGAINST A RAPIST, NOT AGAINST A HIJACKER, NOT AGAINST A MUGGER AND SURE AS HELL NOT AGAINST A FLIPPING COLD-BLOODED SERIAL MURDERER WHO HAS ALREADY SHOT 12 (MAYBE 13) PEOPLE AND KILLED 9 OF THEM.
