JUST BREAKING!!! Police confirm another shooting. But are not sure if it is related.

I think a lot of us who are now leaning towards foreign terrorism would much rather go back to thinking 'homegrown'.

Aryan Brotherhood, Legalize it!, any of these would be better than Muslim.

We have to keep looking for strange happenings such as prisoner releases... things like that.

My younger son who lives in Portland, Oregon, sold his pickup when the Moose was the Police Chief in Portland. It would be broken into in a good NW neighborhood several times a week by druggies looking for something to steal. Then they starting breaking the lock on his camper shell to sleep and deficate in the back of his camper shell.

So he sold his pickup and went to mountain bikes and a road bike. He averages over a hundred miles per week and most of his in city riding he averages just under the speed limit with his mountain bikes and just above with his road bike.

Besides being able to ride around on the roads, with his mountain bikes, there are few places that he can't ride. He and any good mountain bike rider can go up and down alleys, on sidewalks, yards, creek beds, deer trails or what ever.

Re downhill riding, one fall his brother and I dropped him off at the Crater Lake Lodge. We drove my Bronco down the road to Union Creek cabins where we were staying.
We went to our cabin to fix lunch and to have a beer. Before we finished our sandwiches and our beer, he was on the front porch of the cabin locking up his Road Bike. I didn't ask how fast he went down that mountain. As a parent, you don't need to know a lot of things like that.

Many cities are now making good bike riders, cops, and putting them out on bikes to patrol. They have an incredible range and can really hammer down the crime rate.

At least the Police need to release the photo of the French soldier who is missing to see if anyone in the area has seen him. Why have they not done this yet?????

I haven't read the thread before posting which is one of my rules but here goes:
Sights or scopes attached to receiver[the main blocky part] are only disturbed if the barrel is removed from the receiver. The barrel is the main item for accuracy. If the sights are on the barrel there is no problem. In other words, if the sights and barrel are attached permanently, the only thing that can go wrong is if the sight itself was moved.

A person could damage the barrel or the sights but that's obvious.

Thompson Contender pistols have the sights directly mounted on the barrel.

If I could post what my sister has told me I would, Lets just say, The Montgomery County Police along with the rest of the Task Force are not looking for a foriegn terrorist or a terrorist cell.

Take a look at all of the Virginia shootings and how close they are to the highway. Then look at the shootings here in Montgomery County and see how far away from the highways they are. Whoever the shooter is, he is very familiar with the heart of Montgomery County and is most likely a long time resident.

What worries us is that this would be a ridiculous time to release them - given the sniper stuff - if the release wasn't part of the sniper's demand package.

George with the precision, sturdiness and reliability of the scope mounts sold today and when mounted professionally. Once a weapon is sighted in. It is probably sighted in for life. I have taken a couple pretty good falls with my 30:06, and the gun has taken a worse fall. The sight was still right on after the falls.

These various bore sight systems can be a good way to check out your sights before you go hunting each morning or target shooting without firing the weapon at range.

As Fixit has noted some of the expensive mounts allow a scope to be removed for transportation or storage and then put back on without losing the accuracy of the sighting in.

I don't know where you're posting from, but everything I've seen in the last couple of days has indicated that this whole "Montgomery/DC are being destroyed" is a bit of an exaggeration. Most DC-area Freepers tell me that they're being cautious, but not really changing their daily lives very much.

I absolutely agree with you Enquiring.. There are MANY cells in the D.C. area who may have been here for a year or more with the sole purpose of planning this reign of terror. If the Montgomery county bunch have based a decision to eliminate the possibility of terrorism on geography, it is no wonder they seem no closer to solving these crimes than two weeks ago!
