Perps may be a newspaper delivery people, or good chance he,they are handyman/aluminun siding installer/salesmen,construction men etc. That's why they need a van w/ladders or station wagon!

As I posted before, Lance Armstrong averaged about 24 MPH for the Tour de France. But, that's (I believe) got some real big hills. In the mountains of CO, people have done 60MPH down hill.

A lot depends on the bike and the surface. A light road bike on asphalt is faster than a heavier bike, but if he has to bike through the woods, he'd probably need a mountain bike (fat tires), and that would slow down his escape a great deal unless he was on a trail and he was headed downhill.

I just wonder how many idiots would be out there shooting otherwise, with the police on as high alert as they are. To me it seems obvious it must be the sniper because who else would be so blatant?
