IMO then we shouldn't rule out the possibility of multiple shooters, coordinated enough to be able to retreat to multiple safe houses, but having agreed beforehand to a plan that specifies that they will do whatever they can to make it look like its all being done by the same shooter. Thus, same ammunition, same general attack plan. But maybe this could account for the varying skill level - some head shots, some body shots - as well as the fact that each shooter avoids suspicion by having ironclad alibis for at least SOME of the shootings.

The ransom angle definitely does not exclude Islamic extremism. Abu Sayeef in the Phillipines is proof positive of that. Different approach in that they were big into hostage taking, then asking for money to be used to fund other activities. No hostages taken here, although one could argue that the reaction of the public in the D.C. area amounts to an area being held hostage.

Then let's do it this way, and we can both be satisified. LE can release all info they have on the sniper, and whenever it is broadcast, you can stand up, put your fingers in your ears, and shout: "I'm not listening...I'm not listening...I'm not listening"

I've got family and friends there. I'd much rather err on the side of caution and have them live, as opposed to playing your couch potato cowboy game and potentially causing more deaths. I'm done dealing with your idiotic commentary.

If this report is accurate. If money is the real objective/agenda. Then I shy away from Islamic terrorism as the agenda/objective. This is someone who is good. Who is evil. Who is well planned and trained. Someone who is very patient. Someone who has a game plan and will stick with it to the end. What is the end? Getting his money, or killing as many as he can. If he sticks with his pattern and plan, he will be next to impossible to catch. He hasn't made any identifible mistakes. He is so good. I must say, I am impressed with his organizational skills.

even a loner has to sleep somewhere. In a densly populated area such as DC, a neighbor may make the connection that the guy down the hall or across the street has never been at home when one of the shootings happened. I am sure that this constitutes a lot of people but it may be noticed by someone. I live alone, always have and in the places that I have lived there is always someone who takes notice of your commings an goings. I'm sure that the authorities are getting many more calls from people suspicious of their neighbors than they can possibly handle. Citizens can eliminate suspicion of someone if they are at home when the shooting occur, I guess that's what BOLO is all about.
