I had the same feeling that he is going to hit twice today. He seems to keep hrs. of someone who is very manic. He probably if he is manic sleeps short periods of time and keeps hrs of a person who works shift work.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought it meant that they had called a coucelor in, which I did think odd.

If this is a commuter bus and the driver was shot with the door open, then somebody must have been standing at that bus stop for him to pull up and open the door. An accomplice?
This could be a schedule coordination stop. The park close to where I live in Pasadena (left coast) is along side the street where one bus company starts its local routes. Buses are often there for a few minutes, waiting to start their run at their scheduled time. It's quite common for the drivers to get out of their bus and walk around a bit or sit on the benches at the edge of the park.

I'd like to know why the sketch hasn't been shown here in the US??
Soldier Is Sniper Suspect
A French soldier who went missing on a holiday trip to America is reported to have matched an image of the serial sniper terrorising Washington.
The soldier is reported to have been identified as the man in a US police sketch of the gunman who has killed nine people in the Washington area since October 2.

Thanks you are right. Up close coverage.

I wonder if there is a picture of that guy on a French site.
Using my rusty high school French, I am going to Google to see.

"
This could be a schedule coordination stop. Very possible. In that case, we have more evidence that the shooter prepares his sites carefully.

Victim - ..."more of a stomach-type wound."

Maybe the French authorities won't release the sketch out of some privacy concern.

Rolling roadblocks are set up throughout the region. At the request of police, WTOP is not reporting the exact location of the roadblocks.

I watched MSNBC last night and they ran it off on how it all played out step by step. If it true or not I don't know. If you have MSNBC watch it as they are releasing or saying more than the other stations.

From the same article that ET linked:
A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry declined to add further details, saying merely that French authorities were exchanging information with their US counterparts.
It is very interesting that the article mentions a US police sketch of the DC sniper...I haven't seen one; have you?

Somone yesterday posted (I know not on what authority) that the sniper, while of French citizenship, is from "the former Yugoslavia."

Thank you. I don't own TV. FR/the internet and talk radio constitute my newsline. Your running commentary on what TV is covering and reporting is very much appreciated.
To: livius
Well, having searched "lycee militaire du St. Cyr" I get pages of soccer(football scores), marks of students for what I believe are entrance exams, and history of the institution. No news stories that I could locate.
To: livius
"Former Yugoslavia" is weird, why not say Croatia or Serbia or Bosnia?
To: aristeides
Maybe the French authorities won't release the sketch out of some privacy concern. My guess is that the US authorities don't want it released. If the cell finds out that we have a sketch that is close, they will kill the guy to prevent his arrest.
Also, if it does turn out to be a lone nut (highly unlikely, IMO), he might go ballistic and do something much worse--like leave the area and walk into some place and kill 50 or so before the cops could get there.

Try www.wtop.com. It's a local radio station that streams live.

With the traffic stopped, he's got lots of targets right now.
