The shooter did want it read. And if more shootings occur anywhere else in the country today or tommorow; the LEOs involved should be fired--if not put in jail!

Oh, fer cryin out loud! Get a grip. We need all the LEOs we've got, cause I guarantee we are going to lose some before this is over. You are expecting something they can't possibly deliver. We are at war--and we are all in it together.

Even if they could suddenly sweep up every member of this cell today, do you think another wouldn't take its place tomorrow?

Speaking of which, I have been sitting here since after I dropped them off and now it's time to pick up my HS ers, ...gotta go for a few minutes.

Me too, every since I dropped her off this a.m. I have been corresponding on FR. Have to leave in a few minutes to go pick her up, but I'll be back.

ALERT

I haven't read all of the posts, but I think there is something big going on.

Think about it! How would you get the officer in - charge to deliver non-stop messages to the press? Before he went to the NATIONAL MEDIA, he had to accept the fact that he would be setting a bad precdent for future would-be snippers and secondly he would look like a "fool" for being yanked around by the "sniper". In short, he would only do this if he knew the "sniper" could cause serious harm to the public.

My question is this, does the sniper have WMD?

Turn off your t.v's and get a life

Go find a pail of sand and bury your head in it. Seriously, I agree with you to an extent, unless this was a terrorist plot from the start, and then, the media is doing its job well, and we can get on with the business at hand, kicking terrorist a$$

Wouldn't that have meant releasing it Sunday, or Monday at the latest?

It could mean:

1. We can't keep on closing the schools without parents becoming suspicious

2. We think the perps mean it when they say "ANYWHERE" and we don't want anybody getting real mad at us when kids start getting shot nationwide.

3. All of the above.

That wouldn't explain why Moose made it 'clear' that he was going to read the post script VERBATIM. He could have just said, the shildren are not safe. But, he didn't, and I think its because he was told to read the post script EXACTLY as written. jmo

Vol2727. Thank you so much. I've been searching! Guess I was wrong. Thought there was an inflection or wording in there that made me pause. I appreciate your efforts and writing this down very much. Freep regards, Peach

At this point? The entire lot of Middle Eastern nationals. Close the freakin' borders.

Yes, they should be deported (or at least interned for the duration). And unreliable Moslem citizens should be interned. It's the only way they're going to be safe now anyway. Intern and deport.

If you keep schools open, he goes for the schools. If you close the schools, he goes for daycare, parks, malls, etc.

You can keep the schools open and station the National Guard around them.

What about stationing the National Guard at schools?

Judge Napolitano said this on Fox News. He said it's time to bring out the National Guard.

I actually think the French authorities have been diligent in providing information about the missing lieutenant...

However, I cannot comprehend why it is that LE would refrain from providing the public both the picture and the name of this young man.

It's inexcusable. The "tunnel vision" excuse won't fly...; and p"erson of interest" will always do in a pinch...

We can't keep on closing the schools without parents becoming suspicious

Some yahoo on one of the news channels last night was actually stating that the schools were forced to close because so many parents were just not sending their kids anyway. Basically, he was FOS and I was pretty sure of it at the time.

"'We don't care whether you have confidence in Bush or not; this is NOT the thread for that. Lord knows there are a million other ones on here you can vent that on.'

It is relavent to this thread and I don't care what you think."

I agree. I think a part of the debate will come down to our form of government. The preamble to the Constitution states that one of the purposes of our government is "to provide for the common defense". Our existing government is no longer doing that for reasons related to politically correct thought; the imposition by various minorities of directed voting power to impede the constitutional course of government; and other considerations related to international policy goals such as a new world order which do not have the interest of United States citizens as their first priority.

Bush is a big part of that problem, as is the existing perversion of the democratic process. I believe we will have a constitutional crisis before the end of the current administration and attention ought to be directed here, as well as in other domestic political circles about what to do about this state of affairs.

The government's response to the sniper, as to other domestic attacks, has been to declare war on American citizens instead of on the enemy. Bush is responsible. We need to do it some other way.

He said they're not safe anywhere, anytime. Hopefully, he was just talking about gunshots. But this implies we may see some home invasions pretty soon or even machine gun attacks in public places.

I would not be surprised to see more schoolyard attacks, as well as attacks on people around their homes outside. Or in parks. So far, the guy has stuck primarily with public venues like stores and gas stations - but I think that if he isn't caught soon, he will start taking other approaches, particularly if stirred up by public speculation about what he can/can't do and what he will/won't do.
