Oops - I do that, too. I am guilty of doing that very thing - and yet - even with the tv's on Fox practically non-stop (atleast 1 is always on Fox - even when my sons are home) - I STILL come to FR for the latest updates!! LOL

Everytime Moose gets up to speak, we all freak out, he is instilling ZERO confidence in the American people--its time to replace him and get someone who can talk straight, and i don't mean dialect

The parents are not the "proper" people to inform of threats?Provided there hasn't been threats tied specifically to telling them or evacuating. Something else is on the playing field. Something potentially even nastier than what we've been playing with to date.
I've got a bad feeling about this...
To: ThinkingMan
That makes sense..aren't they basically admitting that this perp is actually breaking all the "Known" trademarks of snipers, and serial killers? They are winging it.
To: mhking
Moose just said the people, and then stopped himself and said the person involved. Then he again repeated the people or person involved.
To: livius
Thanks! Yeah I've read up on what many officers go through, and while the vast majority never have to fire their weapon, it's almost worse to come to the scene of a mother murdered in front of her children, or even an accident involving a family than to shoot a perp.
I am sensitive and empathic but I am also aware of the evil and suffering in the world. I imagine I will not shy away from it in the line of duty.
To: TexKat
Yep - noticed that, too.
To: slimer
that's a lot of thinks to thunk.

Me too MasonGal!

Perhaps he's saying all he can say?
I just have this feeling that this is a LOT worse than even we know. It's like Chinese water torture.
To: Howlin
I STILL have chills running down my spine.
To: ThinkingMan
I think that they have absolutley no clue what is going on. They have no suspects, they have no motive, they have no idea what is going to happen next. They blew some type of communication with the shooter yesterday, and today's shooting is just the start over point.Agreed. This is not looking good at all. And I don't think I'm the only one to read that between the lines here.

I am the only one who thinks we are in deep doo doo here??? I have felt this way since the schools went into lock-down after the very first couple of shootings. I especially had a bad feeling after the boy was shot outside of his school, shortly after the report came out that American schools could be targets.
More questions about parents and threats
We have an answer!!!
Official: Name? Shooter has not placed any favoritism on any particular groups of people, age etc.!!

My girlfriend had the NERVE to stop over yesterday right at the start of one of the media conferences. I acted real cool.......took a deep breath and turned off TV. Right after she left, ANOTHER friend stopped over. I gave up at that point and popped a beer.
To: MasonGal
I'm thinking more and more mercenaries hired by Saddam. Yikes!
To: yukong
Thanks, yukon. The same thing going on here! I don't know what I'd do if not for all of you here. :) Only one neighbor is more political than me and most of my friends are clueless. I have no one to talk to about all of this , 'cept you guys and my sisters back east.

I think the point is that it is NOT a specific threat, i.e. "I am going to shoot more children" or "See you at school." More likely it is something that could POSSIBLY be viewed as a threat to children, i.e. a note left in a trick or treat bag. It also could have been a threat to the Richmond area schools ant not the DC area schools. There are many reasons why there would be no elaboration about this at a public news conference. I trust law enforcement and local school officials here more than I trust idiot reporters that just want to alarm people.
