Dick Morris Predicts Demmycrats Will Win Both Houses
Fox News | October 21, 2002 | PJ-Comix

Posted on 10/21/2002 7:07:05 PM PDT by PJ-Comix

I just saw Dick Morris on Hannity & Colmes predict that as of right now it looks like the Demmycrats will win both Houses of Congress. In a way this sure gives vindication to my nightmare. In another thread I predicted that if Douglas Forrester loses NJ then the Demmycrats will retain control of the Senate. However, if Forrester wins in NJ then the Republicans will pick up 3 seats in the Senate. Don't ask me how I know but I know. This is all part of my NIGHTLY nightmare which involves me SCREAMING at Douglas Forrester to pick up the phone and call Howard Stern to gain his endorsement. In my nightmare, Forrester is always about to make that all-important phone call but then backs out as I wake up screaming (as I do every morning): "DOUG---CALL HOWARD!!!"

I heard Morris say that and my spirits sank. Then I remembered how often he is wrong. The only way to assure vistory for the right candidates--the Republicans--is for everyone to get out the Pubbie vote and call everyone you know to get them out. To imagine that Morris is right is such a horrible thought I gag!

Seriously.

I dreamt two nights ago that Bill and Hillary were my parents. I was consoling my Dad, Bill Clinton, about becoming a nobody since leaving office. Dad was telling me that Mom, Hillary, was planning on leaving him. The horror, the horror...

Morris laid the blame for his turnabout prediction directly upon Bush. He claims Bush has wimped out over Iraq and is now sounding like a Euro leftist who "wants Chirac's personal approval before he attacks Iraq." Holy cats!

"You conveniently ignore that many immigrants(and natives, for that matter) vote more conservatively as they move up the income/class ladder.

I have noticed a trend here on FR that always rings true. Any post that refers to our President as 'Jorge' is guaranteed to be a clueless screed of negativity."

As someone with insight into the immigrations situation, I feel that RodgerD is right. Most of these newcomers will follower their "paisanos" and vote Democrat. And although I voted for Bush and support him on most issues, I am adamantly opposed to his position on immigration. He needs to seriously re-think his position before it's too late.

Annecdotally, did you notice that the van stopped today in Richmond had a Bush/Cheney sticker, a Marines or NRA sticker, and a Mexican flag? Recently bought in either Texas or California, these stickers were almost certainly put on by the previous owner. That combination of stickers seems to run counter to your theory.

As you stated, they were almost certainly put on by the PREVIOUS owner. The vehicle had a temporary plate on it, so the current owners probably didn't have time to remove the Bush/Cheney, Marines and NRA stickers yet. And they were perhaps left on as subterfuge...to give the impression he/they were something they weren't.

Like I said, I have a working knowledge of these people. If you think a portion of the American electorate is ignorant, the newcomers are even more clueless. They will support whomever they see as giving them the most. And since most, if not all, "immigrant advocates" are Democrats, I'm not surprised to see them vote that way.

I have been pessimistic on both houses for quite a while. Morris has been wrong before, but his very amorality makes him a relatively unbiased observer.

It is surprising that such a sleazy guy can be such a good columnist, but he is quite good at it, actually.

Maybe Dick Morris has inside info on the amount of voter fraud that is out there. The Democrats have a passel of lawyers out there ready to enhance and supplement the fraud.

I am still convinced that Bush won in 2000 because the Democrat fraud machine under estimated the amount of fraud necessary. They didn’t want to make it look TOO obvious and got caught with their fraud numbers down.

Dick Morris is a self-absorbed egomaniac. Everything he says and does is self-serving, which takes objectivity out of the picture. H&C waste their time giving him air. He is neither fair or balanced.

THAT WAS AN OCTOBER 10, 1998 POLL!! How about an updated poll by.....let say........ah............4 YEARS!!

Which was exactly Pardek's point, of course.

We've known for four years that Dick Morris has a horrible accuracy rate as an Election Pundit.

Morris predicted that the GOP would gain 35-40 seats in 1998. They didn't. If memory serves, the GOP lost a few seats.

Morris failed horribly as an Election Pundit then. So why should we believe him now?

Hopefully, you now comprehend Pardek's argument. Glad I could help.

You conveniently ignore that many immigrants (and natives, for that matter) vote more conservatively as they move up the income/class ladder.

True, and if this nation's longest and most massive ever immigration influx were ever turned off, this might actually have some net effect on immigrant voting patterns. Until that happens, there's no way in hell "maturing" switchers from the Democratic party are going to keep pace with 1.5 million generally-poor people entering the citizenship queue every year, year after year. Sorry, it ain't gonna happen.

The problem with the esteemed President George Walker Bush's approach is that rather than save the prospects of the Party (and far more importantly the country), he instead makes multiple dead-of-night attempts to sneak pander-amnesties through Congress, cannibalizing the future to try to buy himself one last Congress and one more term.
