Chief Moose Asks Sniper to Call Them Back
Beltway Sniper attempted contact last night !

Very short press conference where he simply states that the Beltway Sniper attempted contact and Chief Moose requested that he call them back.

As usual, the media has shown tremendous irresponsibility throughout this mess, due to their desire to capture ratings and stroke their egos. They could very well be responsible for keeping this thing alive. Only facts and public safety awareness are what is needed from them in this case. Well, I've stayed up with this whole thread, as I did last nights. I can NOT believe how adults can "eat their own" as has happened both nights.

None of us KNOW FOR SURE what is going on. I think we can all agree???????????? that we don't necessarily WANT everything to be out there so the bad guys know what we know. Yeah, there's room for improvement, but this terror on our soil IS new to us.

I've worked in schools, private and public. I'm tellin' ya, this is either the districts deciding, along with the police, that they're ALL going to regroup and come up with a contingency plan for the worst, OR, there's something much bigger that we don't know about.

I'm leaning towards the bigger thing.

You can NOT reach the district office on the weekends. And, let's say hundreds of parents called.....they do NOT have to close them down. The parents don't have to send their children in. And I'll betcha, that given the circumstances, those children who don't go won't be penalized.

WHY ARE WE FIGHTING EACH OTHER, OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN? Why must it be civil rights, or homeschooling, or whatever. WHY AREN'T WE CONCENTRATING ON THE TOPIC AT HAND????????????????????

Terrorizing the public in the Washington DC area and frustrating the police has worked already. Now that he has accomplished his goals in one area, can we expect more of the same all across the country? I hope not.

I've been thinking the same..the next few days, weeks, are going to be extremely sensitive, and if the cops don't comply, all hell's liable to blow, and don't forget they're saying the terrorists are ready to hit again...
Whoever it is, it's obvious they're monitoring the cops radios, watch news, planned each attack beforehand and ensured a successful getaway..

We just do not have enough information to know what is right or wrong. I believe there is some threat that has been put out on the table. I want to believe...that the school disctricts did not make this decision based just on the last shooting. I truly believe there is a puzzle piece missing here...we are not privy to all the information. God help those who are in the seat of decision making.

No one gets it. It's so obvious. Some kid will die on his doorstep if they close the schools. I get it. First thing I thought of when they said they were going to close schools. I hope they decided to close because of a legitimate threat, and not as a knee-jerk reaction to hysterical parents. Because otherwise, if they don't catch this guy, a child is going to die tomorrow.

Now, on topic here...I think closing the schools is a hysterical move...

The county that had 5 deaths initially (montgomery?) never closed their schools...

In the face of terrorism, we can't freeze in panic - we lived 9/11 close up and personal - I do understand the fear people have, really. The terrorist can't win, it's as simple as that.

The media are ASSUMING it is a msg from the spree killer...Moose did not say who the person is..could be someone who saw something, not the shooter....

We have to just wait and see.
