Chief Moose told the person who left the message to call them back on the number that that person gave them in the message left at the Pondorosa...
The media are ASSUMING it is a msg from the spree killer...Moose did not say who the person is..could be someone who saw something, not the shooter....
We have to just wait and see.

Why would a witness leave a third party number?

CNN reported in breaking news earlier this evening that the Moose's message was directed at the sniper

Considering that one "witness" has been arrested, my guess the message is from a witness. Could be afraid of the police, or could be afraid of the sniper.
Or the message could be from one of the group who wants out and wants to make a deal.

"The media are ASSUMING it is a msg from the spree killer.."
I've been working at our cabin all day and have just recently come home and tried to catch up on the news.
I am assuming that noone has told the press that the message was left in the wooded area. Also, when I heard the message from Moose, he directed his commments to the person who left the message 'at' the Ponderosa - not 'near' the Ponderosa.
I am wondering why the media automatically assumed this message was from the shooter? Has anyone heard a reporter quote sources saying that it was?
