Very short press conference where he simply states that the Beltway Sniper attempted contact and Chief Moose requested that he call them back.

I am trying to figure out the logic in closing schools? What are we doing?

My guess would be to keep the kids safe at home. Hell, we don't have a sniper here, but we homeschool just to keep our kids safe from the school!

There was a report on the boy's medical treatment in the Washington Post a couple of days ago. It made it pretty clear there was only one shot.

By the way, the boy's injuries sound quite similar to those of the man shot last night

I don't know. If it entered in the shoulder/upper back and hit hard tissue it easily could have taken a downward path into the abdominal cavity. I don't know the details.

You don't close the schools because the police chief (of a department in another state) got a threat.

Maybe we only know about the Tarot card because it was leaked. They did get ticked about that news getting out. Maybe they've been more careful about other clues getting out to the public at large.

Which I guess is ok in order to preserve the investigation. But I'm not so sure these days that news is being suppressed for the right reasons.

Yeah, I posted about the National Enquirer yesterday.

Basically, they quote a law enforcement source that they killer has left messages at other crime scenes-- besides the tarot card we know about. The messages specifically tell the cops not to release the details of the message.
