Very short press conference where he simply states that the Beltway Sniper attempted contact and Chief Moose requested that he call them back.

Here the business places seem to be the key. Bush supporters. Wyle's (Michaels), Marcus (HomeDepot), 4 oil companies. I haven't finshed researching the smaller places, but it's not going to surprise me if they're all on some Bush donar list.

I've been noticing the same thing..Do you think this is his way of trying to get Bush to come out, but you KNOW they'd never release that bit of info?..Wonder if those messages that they've received and haven't mentioned to the public have anything to do w/ the president?..Could it be why the feds came in on this and also gained use of the reconaissance planes??..There's a lot more to this..

I can tell you've never been shot at, or not very much. Many calibers can sound ZING when they go by, others CRACK, and so on. A big factor is how far they've traveled before they get to where you're at. I speak from experience. Handguns, Rifles, and yes, even shotguns. Some are scarier than others.

It's not so hard to understand.With the thousands of calls the tip center has been getting does anyone think anyone of real importance is answering them.This guy wants to talk to someone in charge,so he leaves a number he looked up in the local govt. blue pages under law enforcement.He wants someone there of importance to take his call,I understood that with no problem.

Just butting in here and not caught up with thread, but just heard Moose say on Drudge "you provided us with a phone number". Hasn't there been 10 kills? 000-000-0000 as in a phone number is 10 digits. Sorry if this was covered.

That probably is something like it. The phone number makes little sense on the face of it.

I'd change it to "...."You left us your demands, & and we are ready to meet them. Proceed with the next step you outlined."

I'm sorry, but that seems to be an over-reaction to me. And, as a school employee, despite the fact that I get a paid day off, I think that we are letting the sniper win by doing this...

We have never yet had a report of more than one bullet being found at one of these shootings...

It was originally reported by CNN and by FOX that the 13 year old boy shot outside the Bowie, Md. Middle School was shot once in the chest and once in the abdomen. Has it been reported conclusively that he was only shot once? I have never seen that report, but there have been so many, I know I've missed more than I've seen.

This may sound totally off the wall (oh, hey, why not?) but I'm wondering if the number may not have been something related to the President - that is, a secret number, which the shooters would use to reveal how much they knew - and their purpose is to make some kind of demands or threats. Again, probably WAY off the wall...

I posted something similar to your comment before I read what you wrote..there's something going on, and don't forget that they're also releasing info re another terrorist hit approaching..
Did they close the schools for tomorrow??..Just heard on CNN that schools in the Richmond area are cancelled for tomorrow...wouldn't surprise me if something's up...Pray that nothing happens...

Yes, it's been suggested already. And it's definitely a very good explanation IF we're talking about a stolen cell phone. Several other interesting speculations.
