He said that a person left them a note with a number. Moose told him that they want to talk and to call them at the number that was on the note.

Chief Moose asks the person (sniper or witness, who knows), to call the number the person left.
That's right - "Call the number" the sniper or witness left.
The reporters are scratching their heads on that one.
Chief Moose is the best!
Maybe now the FBI will take over the investigation.

He said that a person left them a note with a number. Moose told him that they want to talk and to call them at the number that was on the note. How does that work? the person left a phone # won't that mean the COPS should call HIM???
To: Texaggie79
I'm sorry, Chief Moose. You need to explain this again. The sniper left you a note with a number, and you want him to call you at that number? How does that work?

Maybe the sniper knows about the new Fox movie coming out about the sniper who calls people on phone booths, and tells them not to hang up or they'll be shot. The sniper wants a cop to stand waiting in the booth...

Maybe he gave Chief Moose the location of a phone booth to be at by a certain time, and if not, another person dies...
