Starting from the possible first sniper shooting of 9/14, the guy shot in front of the liquor store.

Hummm...Exactly 30 days...And a rental truck found near the airport.
How about this...
"The INS finalized on April 11 the
rule limiting the period of a
tourist's stay in the United States
to 30 days, instead of the usual
six months."
Here's just one of many sources for this.:

...they need White House clearance before they can release information. Very possible.

What is around mid-October? (specifically, 10/14 or 15?)
To: nicmarlo
Nothing around mid-October this year. Sometimes Sukkoth is this late, however. (Jewish Holy Days move around since some Jewish years have 12 months, others have 13 months.)

Spotswood and Fairfax were pretty cool. Fairfax was the mentor and promoter of G. Washington when GW was young (Believe the Fairfax farm was the first survey he worked on at age 15). Just before his death, old man Fairfax expressed his disappointment in Washington in having gone aginst the British since he promoted Washington's anti-French period.
I have a wonderful old book (c 1898 on the Fairfax family and the heirs up until that time.

Thanks for the link and post; I wasn't aware of the 30-day change.
Interesting, too, that it also says:
An INS officer at the US port of entry will determine what he believes is a "fair and reasonable" amount of time needed for the visa holder's stated purpose of visit.
In case of doubt on what constitutes "fair and reasonable," the rule continues, the tourist visa holder "shall be admitted for a period of 30 days.

Back in the past, when I used to travel to Turkey a lot, I often flew on Air Pakistan into and out of JFK. It was cheaper than the other airlines.
Anybody know whether it flies into and out of Dulles?
To: livius
Go to google and just plug Islamic Calendar. I'm sure you can find a good site in the group which will give you some answers and/or thoughts.

Hey 66: That INS angle is an interesting thought.

" Anybody know whether it flies into and out of Dulles?"I don't remember seeing it, though I distinctly remember Saudi Airlines.
I'll look again when I'm there this Wednesday.

LOL! I also flew Air Pak once, to Spain, of all places. The problem was that the other passengers smelled so bad (I'm not kidding - deodorant is clearly a product of the Great Satan) that I never did it again.

"I wasn't aware of the 30-day change."
I wasn't sure either...just checked it on a hunch. I know on the surface it seems unlikely that someone like this would care about the terms of a visa, but if he (they) thought they might draw unwanted attention to themselves by not leaving as scheduled, they might.

Others think the team may simply have moved on and are waiting to regroup elsewhere and strike again.
IMO, all these shootings were "target practise" for a bigger event and the shooter/s have now gone to their real assignment. Examine the event calendar for major events over the next couple of weeks, i.e. World Series, election, etc.

I'll give a partial listing. For the rest, go here:
carriers Air France, Austrian Airlines, British Midland, British Airways, BWIA International Airways, Grup Taca, Ethiopian Airlines . . . Saudi Arabian Airlines
To: Route66
Absolutely!
To: md2576
"Would they be better?" referring to the FBI on the tiplines.
Well, I didn't want to get in trouble, that's why I put the smiley face on there. My feelings are probably similar to yours.:)
To: bcoffey
See my post #276, I was checking out Dulles while you posted. As of that moment, Saudi Arabian Airlines was on the list of air carriers.....if you're going to that airport, as you said, would be interesting to know if they're still actually operating.

It obviously is NOT a "home grown,Militia " as the gubmint boys would have already infiltrated/listened in/spyed on them and would have already done a Waco by now.
