WASHINGTON(AP) - Bill Simon, the Republican nominee for governor of California, is finding no shortage of critics within his own party.
On Thursday, Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va., chairman of the National Republican Campaign Committee, singled out Simon's bid to unseat Democratic Gov. Gray Davis as the party's worst campaign anywhere.

The fact is, Gray Davis has got to go!

I don't think there's a worse-run race in the country than the governor's race in California for the RepublicansHey! Thanks for the help!

I still think
The Myth of the Middling Non-Participant describes the key to a resounding victory by Bill Simon. And I still think he is
going to win despite the campaign.
"It's the base, stupid." Spin us up!

Reverse psychology, or the ugly truth? Only election day knows the truth. Simon has had some good ads lately.

This is why I will only donate to the person and not to the Republican party. Gee, with friends like these....

And what did this Mr. Davis ever do to HELP Simon?
I tell you, we donated directly to Simon's campaign and another local Republican (who got no support from the national party) and have thrown all the GOP mail begging for money for the national party in the trash.
My house is voting for Simon!

"...beset most recently by Simon's false accusation..."
Okay, I get it now. Davis can totally screw the pooch over a period of four years, driving the state from a $12 billion surplus to a $24 billion deficit, mortgage the state to pay the electrical bill, ruin the education system to the point that more than half of all high school seniors fail their achievement exams, run the Governor's Office like a cheap whorehouse... but let Bill Simon make one mistake and throw in with the accusation leveled by a police organization...

One more thought.
You don't see Simon throwing in the towel like the Torch and letting some joker step in like Lautenberg. He's sticking it out to the bitter end and that takes character.

Another thought:
Picture to pieces of cloth. One is white with a spot on it. One is filthy.
The filthy one is Davis. The spots don't stand out because he has so many of them.
The white cloth with the spot is Simon. Of course, his mistake stands out.

GOP boss says Simon campaign is worst in U.S. Absolutely not true. The Michigan Republican Party has completely imploded and buried itself about 20 miles down into the Earth's crust. It is unbelievable how they have abandoned the field of battle completely to the Liberals.
Never in my life have I seen a political party so inept, so incompetent, so completely devoid of any hope. It's amazing!

Isn't this helpful? Methinks this guy must have contributed to Davis's campaign fund.

Sometimes I think our party is being infiltrated from the left. It happened in Iowa.

The Republican Party wants Simon defeated in the worst way. They still haven't forgiven him for what he did to Riordan. Hastert's people just sent me a begging letter for their national congressional campaign. I hope they're not holding their collective breath waiting for me to fund all the rinos in their line-up.
To: RightOnTheLeftCoast
I'm inclined to agree (but that doesn't mean this Congressman should have said this out loud).

"Sometimes I think our party is being infiltrated from the left."I had the exact same thought when they hung Bruce Herschensohn out to dry in California.
