A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 10/17/02

President Bush headed on the campaign trail once again today as he took a day trip to Georgia and Florida. While in Georgia, Bush stumped for Georgia gubernatorial candidate Sonny Perdue and senatorial candidate Saxby Chambless at a Republican fund-raiser in Atlanta. The President then headed to Florida, and was greeted by his brother, Jeb. President Bush promoted reading at Read-Patillo Elementary School in New Smyrna Beach and later spoke via satellite to the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

"This photo chokes me up to no end. It's so touching, especially considering what both men are going through right now." I couldn't agree more. They really believe that life is centered on: "God, Country, Family."
May God bless them both.

What great pics and I'm watching the conclusion of Powell's speech. He's DOING GREAT!
We just got back from our county fall Republican Dinner. The keynote speaker was Larry Householder, Ohio's Speaker of the House. The guy is young, father of 5 and all I can say is WOW....He was SO dynamic but very down to earth, had a strong conservative messaage and all I can say is keep your eyes on him....
and...to top it off Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neal is speaking at our Kiwanis/Rotary Club meeting next Thursday! Not bad for a little bedroom community!
As alway, thanks Rintense!

Great brother pictures. Jeb should have been (the twin)Barbara's father. She looks just like him.
BTW I went to your Freeper home page and loved this from it: The warrior says: 'kill them all!'....It reminded me of a bible passage in whch God told Samuel to do the same thing. It's 1 Samuel 15:3. I like the Living Bible version best.

One of the funniest remarks in the lighter part of Powell's speech was when he suggested that someone (I didn't catch the name) was looking into opening up an Arthur Murray dance studio to teach the perp walk ....... ROFL.

If you have the time, please, please, please fill we poor, cable-deprived souls in on the high points of Powell's remarks :-)

That was great. He referred to Elliot Spitzer. Said he had to be in the dias because he wasn't welcome at the corporate table. Great stuff.

Funny lines"
Here we have hanging chads, in Iraq they have hanging.
I am here as a moderate. I like khaki, my steaks medium, and when people ask me to rate myself from 1 to 10 as a moderate, I answer "5."
I went into the President's office and said "The New York Times wants me to resign, and the Washington Times wants you to fire me." The Presient said "Colin, you're right where I want you to be."
Serious stuff:
Said that every time he comes to New York, he looks over at the lights on the Pepsi plant, where he was a porter at 17.
Terrorists are international criminals. Did they not know that we would not give in to their attack? Never, never, never.
New York gave him his start through education and the people in his neighborhood.
Good stuff about Cheney and the President...and about how his opportnities were just what Al Smith would have wanted.
All in all, Colin did us proud. Also talked about Iraq and why we need to take care of the threat. I am so glad he is Secretary of State! Great job!

Thanks for the Powell ping, rintense.

Yes, Barbara does look a lot like Jeb! Actually, the 'kill them all!' quote is a line that another famous Warrior Princess says (which is why I borrowed it). I had no idea about the Biblical aspects of it.

Thank you for the great pictures of the Brothers Bush. I have a wide grin on my face looking at them. The ex-White House brother didn't make me smile, but you can feel the love these two have for each other. Missed you last night, but Gretchen was an excellent fill in.
