A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 10/17/02

President Bush headed on the campaign trail once again today as he took a day trip to Georgia and Florida. While in Georgia, Bush stumped for Georgia gubernatorial candidate Sonny Perdue and senatorial candidate Saxby Chambless at a Republican fund-raiser in Atlanta. The President then headed to Florida, and was greeted by his brother, Jeb. President Bush promoted reading at Read-Patillo Elementary School in New Smyrna Beach and later spoke via satellite to the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

ROFL!

On another thread, I just saw Mr. Peanut referred to as Jimmy (no bell) Carter.

I'm feeling mean tonight. I think I've just had it up to here with the 'rats!!! The words "bottomless pit" come to my mind.

Chelsea was not sitting in on meetings to learn. She was in high-level, delicate negotiating meetings at Camp David. That's not a matter of extending one's education. That could actually be dangerous for our country. She has shown that she isn't very mature ..... just what sort of thing could she slip up and reveal to college-aged kids or young adults in her social circle in one of her weaker moments?

For what it is worth, I don't think he was "junkie", just despondent and wanted out.

There are some diseases that can affect the frontal lobes of the brain and destroy inhibitions and also cause paranoia, fear, anger, and violence when the afflicted one can't understand or remember what is going on.

I remember a patient who called and asked if I could help with her uncle with Alzheimer's who had just moved to the area. He had just ripped out the sink and attack his wife.

Ordinarily the law is clear. You call the police to subdue violent patients and step in to treat them after they are in a straight jacket.

But our local police, whom I think the world of, are not trained in psychiatry and these type patients scare them. And that fear had caused them to shoot and kill the last two psych patients they had been called on.

So, I took my bottle of Valium and syringes into the lion's den with God as my only guide. And He made it possible for me to talk the man into several injections, and then we called the paramedics to transport him to a medical psych locked ward.

Talk with your father-in-law's doctors about the medications that will be needed to reduce paranoia and delusions in your loved one. This stage of a mind destroying disease can be the toughest challenge of faith. And remember, in his right mind, your father-in-law would not want to cause harm, and would want all necessary precautions taken so that his care givers are not injured.

The sad, sad part is that there are so few facilities that can cope with this challenge in a humane way.

I understand a family standing with their child, but when is the child a grown man or grown woman, it may be demeaning for Mommy or Daddy to hold their hand.

As part of tough love with Noelle they may be rotating the duty. I saw George P., her brother, in court with her in one picture back at the beginning of this current run-in with the law. And I heard Doro, her aunt, went today.

Now that one of my nephews is thirty-one, married with two children, I don't feel it is appropriate to support his "lifestyle choice," as he puts it, of being a drug addict. And I think my sister is finally beginning to throw in the towel, too. Of course, that she fought for him for so long is probably why he is still alive.

His marriage was interesting in that his friends remarked on what a nice change is was to go to the marriage of a friend instead of funerals.

Gore's son got caught for speeding in NC during the 2000 'rat convention ...... and the media suppressed the story.

Well, the press mentioned that Gore's son was picked up for DUI recently, but this news was read by them and then swallowed so fast you hardly knew what you heard.

The remaining part of that scripture is quite relevant in the lives of many though...and thus, should not be ignored. <><
