Peter Jennings Blaming North Korean Nuclear Weapons On Bush!!! Ignores Clinton Treaty Fiasco!!!
ABC/NY | Peter Jennings (by ghost writer)

Posted on 10/17/2002 3:29:51 PM PDT by MindBender26

The Bush administration has been thrown a very dangerous, potentially explosive curveball today. What is the president going to do about North Korea's admission that it has been going ahead with efforts to build nuclear weapons.

You can see the potential here. What is the administration going to do about the Koreans even as it insists that it may have to go to war against Iraq for allegedly similar activity? We are looking at this in a variety of ways tonight. How great is the threat, and what does the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Il, hope to achieve by making this announcement now? Especially since he seemed to be making significant overtures toward the outside world in recent weeks.

Faced with such a brazen, unapologetic declaration, why hasn't the Bush administration reacted more aggressively? Is diplomacy a more effective route in this situation, or is there a double standard here, dealing with one state that violates the Bush doctrine on terrorism differently from another?

How could Bush have anything to do with N.Korea? That was Klintoons baby. I swear that dog will go down in history as Americas worst president. Why isn't Jennings asking what the UN is going to do about it? I thought they were running everything.

Clintons (and his cults) foreign policy is "Throw money at it. It will go away." So, Clinton threw 1 mill a month of taxpayers (American peoples) money at it. It stayed away.......just long enough for the perv to run like hell.

That pretty much sums up the bent one's approach to everything during his term. He rode the wave of peace and prosperity that he inherited from Reagan/Bush Sr., and basically refused to deal with anything in depth (except for Monica, and we understand even that was not very deep, on a number of levels). He took the money and ran, to be sure. AND he managed to do tremendous harm to this nation that will take decades to overcome if at all. I am convinced that he was a Fabian plant, part of a very long term conspiracy to undermine this nation. What a duplicitous and evil man. I hope and believe that history will be very unkind to him and his ilk.

Re #1

Does he want a two-front war ? I did not know he is a super-hawk. :) Actually I know what he wants. He wants US to back down both in Iraq and in N. Korea.

President Clinton - in some of his most strident language to date - warned Sunday he will not let North Korea develop a nuclear bomb.

Clinton , on NBC's Meet the Press, also declined to rule out a pre-emptive strike against North Korea 's nuclear facilities, from which international observers have been banned.

"We have got to stop the proliferation of nuclear weapons," Clinton said.

Jennings unwittingly makes the case why the US must take out Saddam before he gets nuclear weapons. Once a country like the DPRK acquires a nuclear capability, our options become more limited and the ability of a counrty like the DPKR to blackmail and intimidate its neighbors increases.

This new situation also validates Bush's Iraq policy by proving that agreements that chumps like Clinton and Carter advocate signing with rouge nations like Iraq and DPRK aren't worth a bag of beans.

Who gives a crap? Bush still gives money to the palistians.. why must you see everything in black in white... no no you couldn't possibly take a moment to actually think what it would be like to be president for a day.. to come into office and have to deal with but inner and outer politics of what goes on in the world. NO that would be way beyond your comprenshison level wouldn't it?

"Come clean"?????

What the h**l planet are you from?

North Korea has been starving its own people for years to keep its army fed....

Then convinced Carter and Clinton to let the UN import food .... that they also used to feed their army. They've been building 60 foot diameter tunnels under the border to assault South Korea .... Then stocking these with amed and fueled tanks and APC's.

Why? (Hint: South Korea isn't going to invade the North...)

And they've been building nuclear weapons ... which Carter/Clinton's program was designed to stop!

Why do think they are going top "come clean"?

This is how one can easilly cut through the Barbara Streisand:

Today's North Korea, combined with today's Bin Laden = tomorrow's Iraq.

Regarding blame:

How was Bush supposed to follow up on Bubba's NK program? Pay NK off? That's what Bubba tried to do. I remember Lott once mentioning a buried provision in a last minute budget proposal where Clinton wanted to send NK cash for Kyoto emissions points, a treaty that was opposed by over 90 senators. Bubba wanted us to pay NK for permission to consume fossile fuels. We would be putting cooking oil in our diesal tanks by now, along with sending billions to NK every day, and that would only have made the NK military stronger. Our problem would be worse.

Bush inherited an impossible situation regarding NK. He might as well admit it. If NK invades SK during the Iraq war, we will begin to see what Bush meant by the Axis of Evil. We can win both wars. It will be a mess. It will not be pretty. American soldiers will die. And Clinton will apparently laugh. A friend of mine recalls how Clinton hid a smirk and always had a sly look about him every time he mentioned our 'peace efforts' with NK.

Clinton is to blame, and Jennings was a leading enabler.

1. Clinton failed to accept Bin Laden from Sudan multiple times.

2. Clinton failed to uphold the Iraqi cease fire agreement hundreds of times.

3. Clinton fed the NK war machine, ADDING light water nuke plant technology on top of technology previously acquired. A reward for doing wrong. His appeasement failed, as appeasement always does. I heard a rat mention that NK was building a heavy water nuke plant. Apparently they never gave that technology up. They just cannibalised off of both techs to speed up their nuke program.

4. This is just a guess on my part. But NK now has long range rocket capability. I'm guessing that our 'strategic partner', China, provided them with much of that. We all know about The Year of the the Rat.

Jenning's enabling connection? He backed Clinton up, and he pins the blame on the GOP every time. He even got snotty about Bush being away from DC during 9-11. Jennings is one of the Chief Rat's top enablers. There is nothing but one ugly surprise after another waiting for him.

Jennnings comes from Canada. Doesn't he give a flying fig about the thousands of dead Canadians in the tainted blood scandal?

Well said!

"Then the US would probably jump in to assist, and it would be DeJavu all over again. But this time China might not assist PRK, and NK might lose big time. Facing that, would they use their nukes? Probably. What would we do then.

"This is precisely why Saddam has to be taken out BEFORE he fields his nukes. Things get much more complicated after that."
