The academic has suggestions about how to combat the situation; with a choice of subjects to interview, do not approach the attractive ones - instead give the ugly a higher quota.Well, if he tied pork chops to their ears maybe the dogs would play with them. For my vote, looking at Hillary and child is enough ugly in my media diet.

Well, Phil Donahue is on weekday nights, and he's ugly.
Oh, thats right, he doesn't have an audience.

Helen "The Terrible" Thomas' digusting mug is on my tv screen way too often ......That's a large enough dose of 'ugly' for me.

I still have flash backs and nightmares of the photo with Hillary in a bathing suit. Also with the Queen Mum and all you'd think the Brits would have enough as well.

There must be some mistake. The link brought me to some site in Norway, not The Onion.

"Claiming that we consciously pick out the best looking people to interview is absurd and totally meaningless..."
...but true!

This guy has obviously never seen Rosie O'Donnel.

I keep seeing Hillary and Chelsea and Rosie on tv. They should "tip" the scales way back to even.

Demand for more ugly people on TVOh yeah, Rosie O'Donnell is no longer on TV.

"If I were chosen for a TV debate I would obviously be assessed by viewers - not for what I had said, but for how I looked," Andresen said.Haven't they been saying that since Nixon took on Kennedy in 1960?

"Ugly people are as ignored today as dark-skinned people. What nonsense. If you were an alien that tried to gauge the representation of different ethic groups by watching TV, you would think whites and Asians made up about 50 percent of the population and blacks and latinos made up the other 50 percent.

I would be interested in seeing the reactions of the people they tap as ugly enough to fill the quota.

They need to tune in to Jerry Springer. All the uglies one can possibly handled.

Nature descriminates against the ugly, so why not television? This is like having blind pilots, fat cheerleaders and short basketball players.
To: Ranger
This is not so far off the mark. I remember a couple of years ago seeing a local "expose" on the TV where a pair of beautiful talking-head bimbettes did this blockbuster show to demonstrate that pretty women get better jobs than their ugly sisters. They were apalled and it was related to this horrible male-sexist society. These two never seemed to figure out they were on the TV because of their looks, not thier brains. Morons with boobs.
