Book: Carter, Democrats Asked Soviets to Stop Reagan, Sway U.S. Elections

Remember the old conservative charge that many of the Democrats here in America were playing footsie with the Soviets? Some Republicans even said the Russians viewed the Democrats as their favorite party.

Now bombshell revelations prove these accusations beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Peter Schweizer, a Hoover Institution research fellow, has just written a new book, "Reagan's War: The Epic Story of His Forty-Year Struggle and Final Triumph Over Communism."

This book may well well force historians to revise the history of the Cold War.

Schweizer, after scouring once classified KGB, East German Stasi and Soviet Communist Party files, discovered incontrovertible evidence that the Soviets not only played footsie with the high-ranking Democrats, they also worked behind the scenes to influence American elections.

In "Reagan's War," Schweizer shows how the Democrats worked with Moscow to try to undermine Reagan before and after he became president.

Jimmy Carter's Dirty Tricks

Soviet diplomatic accounts and material from the archives shows that in January 1984 former President Jimmy Carter dropped by Soviet Ambassador Anatoly Dobrynin's residence for a private meeting.

Carter expressed his concern about and opposition to Reagan's defense buildup. He boldly told Dobrynin that Moscow would be better off with someone else in the White House. If Reagan won, he warned, "There would not be a single agreement on arms control, especially on nuclear arms, as long as Reagan remained in power."

Using the Russians to influence the presidential election was nothing new for Carter.

Schweizer reveals Russian documents that show that in the waning days of the 1980 campaign, the Carter White House dispatched businessman Armand Hammer to the Soviet embassy.

Hammer was a longtime Soviet-phile, and he explained to the Soviet ambassador that Carter was "clearly alarmed" at the prospect of losing to Reagan.

Hammer pleaded with the Russians for help. He asked if the Kremlin could expand Jewish emigration to bolster Carter's standing in the polls.

'Carter Won't Forget That Service'

"Carter won't forget that service if he is elected," Hammer told Dobrynin.

Carter was not the only Democrat to make clear to the Russians where their loyalty lay. As the election neared in 1984, Dobrynin recalls meetings with Speaker of the House Thomas P. "Tip" O'Neill.

O'Neill told Dobrynin that no effort should be spared to prevent "that demagogue Reagan" from being re-elected.

Soviet documents report that O'Neill told Dobrynin: "If that happens, Reagan will give vent to his primitive instincts and give us a lot of trouble, probably, put us on the verge of a major armed conflict. He is a dangerous man."

Well then, looks like we indeed have socialists/communists in the Democrat Party.

Just more daylight on the democratic party in America. They have taken over the party and in the process taken over 1/2 of the population of the U.S.

Thanks for posting this article about the most dangerous president we ever had.

Carter is a truly evil and anti America/American Rat.

He has been an agent of the Opecker Princes, the Mad Mullahs of Iran and the mass murderers of Iraq for decades.

Now we see that he was in bed with the communists, he loved and still loves.

I will bookmark this for future use.

Carter the peanut POS traitor to America!

Thanks to both of you for your pings.

Philman and I have known for decades how dangerous Carter has been to America.

Thanks to the image created by the NY Slimes and ABCNNBCBS, most Americans look on him a kind and wonderful Christian man of peace.

This man did more harm to America than the Clintoon did. Thanks to Ronald Reagan, a lot of Carter's harm was negated.

Carter has been on the payroll of the Opecker Princes, the Mullahs of Death in Iran and the Mass Murderers of Iraq for decades. Go to this link for a glimpse into some of his financial connections with the Islamofascists who control the Islamakazis who try to kill us. (Carter's Blood money connections to the Opecker Princes)

I wouldn't quite say that.

JohnHuang2 points out that Jimmy Carter did make one major, lasting contribution to world peace.

For Carter's foul-ups over four years, culminating in the Iran hostage crisis and the Desert One fiasco, resulted in the election of...

Ronald Wilson Reagan. And thus, albeit unintentionally, James Earl Carter did make a lasting contribution to a somewhat more peaceful world. The Nobel Peace Prize committee came up with the right answer, but used the wrong logic.

...dispatched businessman Armand Hammer.....

Al Gore's meal ticket. We will probably never learn how much money was laundered through the corruption of the failed Soviet Union back into Rat pockets...... especially the pockets of WJ Clinton and daughter Chelsa. <p. I hold out some hope that Gore will be the fall guy.

About as likely as Natalie Portman calling me up tonight wanting a date for Saturday afternoon.

Somehow, while she has a fair amount of common sense on some issues, I don't think she'd date a neo-conservative Mormon who likes guns.

"FYI ... if true this should be REALLY big news and should bring these treachorous, treasonous, self-serving bastards down..."

It should, I agree, but will it? - Not likely, as they have the media under their total control

"Nobel Peace Prize indeed!"

As you know Jeff, the Nobel Prize has always funded Marxism. The 'peace' prizes have always been given to the marxist murderers.

"It is no secret that during the contra wars, the Demos would fly down to Managua almost weekly to get their picture taken with Daniel Ortega, while voting to cut off funding to the Contras after they were already deployed and in the field."

Anybody interested in reading up more on this treasonous activity should pick up Paul Hollander's "Anti-Americanism"... just a fantastic book... goes in-depth on the Democratic party's pilgrimmages to Central America...

Believe me, the damage that Carter did while President and still does to America is above what was done by Clintoon.

Enough of us were aware of the Clintoon to highlight most of his anti American endeavors. Carter had most Americans fooled and started this entire anti America Islamofascist with his buddies the Mullahs who overthrew the Shah. Then he allowed them to get by with holding our embassy people.

If he had taken out the Mullahs of Death and Hate, this current Islamofascist/Islamakazi situation would not be here.

Stansfield Turner, an old commy Navy Buddy of Carter, destroyed the CIA as an effective spy organization and outed and endangered many good agents in the field.

Carter set up the Watermelon Green Jihadists to have power over our natural resources to make us dependent on Opecker Oil.

Carter never met a communist including the clymer 90 miles south of Florida that he didn't lust after.

Carter just about destroyed our military capabilities in 4 years as president. If Reagan had not been elected, we might be a republic of the USSR with the way our military was heading.

There is more, but don't believe anything about the good ole Peanut farmer image of Carter that has been created by the NY Slimes, the Washington Compost and ABCNNBCBS!

"O'Neill told Dobrynin that no effort should be spared to prevent "that demagogue Reagan" from being re-elected."

And 1984 will be remembered as the biggest landslide presidential election in our history. - The hand of God was still on this nation at that time, but we have clearly lost it now. :o(

I would beg to differ.

There were US$11 billion IMF loan gurantees to build a new Russian industrial economy. Marc Rich cornered the Russian aluminum market and upset the world aluminum market with all the cheap metal. A similar situation developed with the horde of Russian titanium.

The money invested was converted into accounts receivable and the payments stayed outside the country in Swiss accounts. The capital was gone.

The corrupt American Rats allied with the corrupt Russians to steal perhaps the largest bundle of loot in world history.

The Hammer/Gore connection provided the basis for the grand theft.

He was incompetent at best.

Still, that incomptence (or worse) got us Ronald Reagan. Maybe I am still too idealistic, and still look too hard for anything of good report to say about someone, but I prefer to think of Carter as the "useful idiot" who got us two terms of Reagan and one of Bush Sr.
