I remember reading in that book The Cell written by the newsman about AlQueda that they liked to have them work in groups of three. Odd but I wonder if there are three people. And what about Asian gangs? We have them around. And Indonesian, Sudanese? This is getting more and more like a Sherlock Holmes. What bothers me is that clearly LE don't want citizen help,,won't release license numbers, etc, purposely vague. Now that makes me think that a citizen trying to block one of these guys might unleash something worse than just getting killed.

bet the vision plan's good though, per occupational necessity ...Maybe for the pilots, but for shooting all one needs to see clearly and focus on is the front sight.

What's the weather picture in that area??DC Metro is getting the rain that we (Atlanta) were stuck with all day yesterday (cold and steady).
I would hope that with that kind of weather, any opportunity for him/them to strike is minimized.

PS Baltimore marathon is Saturday and I will be there,,it creeps me to think how easy it would be to pick someone off for that and wreak terror.

CNN reporter last night told Connie Chung the bullet reject (wrong terminology - sorry) was left ON TOP of the tarot card, and police are quite sure both were left by the shooter. Haven't heard how the boy is doing.

I think the tarot card was left by a seventh grader or two who goes to the school and was left perhaps days before when they held some kind of 'fun' afterschool readings in the nearby woods experimenting with the occult. The policemen note was written after a they were harrased for skateboarding in the giant parkinglot. In the hope of occult type revenge, I doubt it's related and is why the cops didn't want it to get out. You've GOT to be kidding!

Small scale attacks mean everyone assumes some homegrown nut, and the terrorists walk free All of the mis-profiling by the experts further gave them the green light.

I know! But I respect the decisions of the administrator and will abide by the their suggestions. If there is breaking news in a press conference, we can hit the abuse button and leave a suggestion with the administrator that they move this to the breaking news section. However, by then there will probably be a vanity with a new headline better describing the breaking news and that's where we will all go for a while. Am I making sense? (Sleep deprived in the south).

Doesn't anyone find it odd that this German witness who was in a van saw these guys up close and stated their middle eastern look. Is this the same guy who came back to the scene the next morning to give his statement? This guy seems odd. He smiles as he tells this horrid story and he just doesn't seem very credible to me. If the police thought this guy was a good witness they would have silenced him as they have every other witness. I think the police let this guy get to the media to tell his lies to fool the sniper into thinking that they are taking that route. Pretty smart.

Just a thought, but maybe when they "ORIGINALLY SET THIS UP", they didn't realize that Monday was a holiday and it caused a small upset in their plans resulting in a rare night hit and numerous witnesses.

Oh I know its not your fault! It's just that this stuff is important. IMO, more important than Saddam's referendum. *rolling eyes*

Who's to say there isn't a cell preparing another form of terrorism in Houston, just waiting for the endgame to play out in DC?I've had the impression that each cell is operating autonomously; in which case, coordinating multiple cities simultaneously, while not out of the question, would be the exception rather than the rule.

What about Philippinos? We are stationed in the Phillipines fighting terror. Maybe there is a cell here in the U.S.? Some of the so-called orientals may be Phillipinos. Just a thought.

The night time hit, ins't that rare. Early on we figured he was using parks to hide in. But, the parks may be heavily watched now. The dark offers cover, so we may see more night time shootings.

I was wondering if it were possible that if there are 3, could one of them stay behind as a 'witness' to give false info?

Construction related use:
We use cell phones with a 2 mile range but there are better units. We're never very far apart and they do work if we are in our vehicles. Ours are cheap enough to be throw aways as they were rebuilt.
I guess if they're in vehicles and close enough, they could use these and toss them if they get stopped since they have serial numbers.
I believe cell phone calls are traceable but I guess they have throw aways for those also.

I knew you didn't think it was my fault. And I agree with you. Some dumb stuff gets into breaking news and stays there for the day. Who knows how these things happen? Oh, well.
