The pre-election polls for governor in Florida are tightening, according to John Zogby. Jeb Bush has a 48-45 lead over Bill McBride, who narrowly edged out Janet El Reño in the Democrat primary, thanks to, again, a screwed-up Election Day in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties.
John Zogby Now, folks, Terry McAuliffe was on the Today Show Tuesday, and he revealed that Bill McBride's finance chairman is his father-in-law. That's an interesting little tidbit, which really shows you how incestuous the Democratic Party has become. I, frankly, don't believe this latest Zogby poll.

Anyone remember the polls before the election in Florida. Up to a week before it looked like a walk for Dubya. I think Zogby was the only one who came close to predicting the virtual tie.

"It's got to be a conspiracy!"
Conspiracy, a bit strong, but perhaps it could be called a conspiracy.
I'm saying that this is an effort to dissuade voters thus helping the Democrats. They have done it for years, as an example, every year since the Republicans have won the House, they get their flunkies out to pontificate on how they are going to the the House back.. blah blah blah... This year the polls must be so bad they gave it up in the Spring.
Democrats cannot win some races legitimately, so they must do everything they can to get the offices by other means. Whatever works is fine with them.

Survey USA isn't reliable... They show an independent in our Gov race getting 10% and a LP getting 3% when there is no way that could even be anywhere close...

I'm glad that Rush finally figured that out. Most of us knew this over 2 years ago. Zogby cannot be trusted. FOX used to have him on but I haven't seen him in a long time. Maybe I've just missed him.

Well, it's right in line with every other poll that's come out in the race. Drudge says it too. Bush is numero uno vulnerable, keep your head in the sand if you wish.

Considering that Bush narrowly lost in 1994 and narrowly won in 1998, it is possible that 2002 could also be a narrow race? No! It's got to be a conspiracy!
LOL..... yep that conspiracy is out there for those that look for it.......
Jeb lost by about 64,000 votes out of over 4 million in 1994 to Chiles (50.8-49.2%), but won by over 300,000 in 1998 over MacKay (55-45%). So he's been close and won by a substaintial number. Who know what this time around will bring but does look to be a close one.

I'm glad that Rush finally figured that out. What was refreshing was to hear how bluntly he stated it.

Red, lemme get my list out.. BTTT for Jeb! Hello again.
Well, I had suspected Jeb was going to have a tough race. I don't recall whether I predicted that to you, but I did predict it.
How's Katherine doing?

Hey, Jeb narrowly lost because of a real conspiracy in 1994. The Rat responsible, along with Gov. Chiles who knew about it, fessed up publicly. A little "lie to the seniors" scam pre-election. They have gotten worse. And, NO, Republicans are not moral equivalents. There is no VRWC, but the Dems. wouldn't win without their army of loyal press, union and special interests - the VLWC - Rats cheating and lying across the nation.

Thank you for the post and the pings. I'm glad that Rush has finally decided to join in the fight here in Fla. (^:

I hope he sticks with it.

I'm afraid I'm not a subscriber either, but I did hear Rush on the radio today and he flatout said that Zogby is now flacking for the dem candidates and is no longer the trustworty pollster of days gone by. Fwiw, I tend to doubt there is much truth to this.
Rush makes his living by "flacking" to a particular audience. No person in the polling business can survive by doing that for very long.

Why do you excerpt the full article, then provide a link that's only good for those who pay Rush $50?
(FWIW, I pay FR more than twice that per year, and get a lot more bang for the buck).

Normally I am one who is also skeptical of what passes for "conventional wisdom" on FR, but in the case of Zogby I have to give Rush the benefit of the doubt. Mostly because Rush has always been kindly-disposed toward Zogby's polling expertise.
If Rush says that something is rotten in Denmark, I'd take it seriously.
And although I don't agree that the voter fraud in 2000 was enough to give Gore 500,000 more votes--the margin of the popular vote victory he enjoyed over Bush--the fact remains that voter fraud was both staggering and largely ignored or downplayed by the media.
So FReepers and conservatives generally have a good reason to be leery.
