Looks like Paris Glendining is using the sniper as a tool to get what he wants...a total firearm ban in MD.HEY PARIS! DO YOU THINK THAT BY PASSING THIS EXECUTIVE ORDER (READ LAW BY PEN) THAT THE SNIPER WILL CEASE ALL SNIPING?!
Idiot politicians. None of them have been shot (yet).

Does Glendening think this will really stop the sniper(s)? Or does he think it will head off some vigilant action? What a stupid order right now.

"Is violation of this executive order a felony or misdemeanor? I mean I don't want to really get in trouble!" -a direct quote from the DC Sniper upon hearing of the governor's unanticipated brilliant strategy.

If the law against murdering someone didn't stop this sniper, what makes the governor think this will?????? Intelligent minds want to know.

I guess we can send law enforcement home. They cannot use their firearms to stop the sniper without breaking the law. . .
Wouldn't want them losing their jobs because they violated the total ban on firearms discharge. And I really don't think it is in the job description to catch a violent criminal with butterfly nets.

IF this doesn't motivate the GOP base, nothing will. The projected turnout for GOP'ers should go up significantly after this gets circulated.

waddafoo.
I wonder what would happen if all the people in these counties disregarded the e.o. A little civil disobedience might go a long way. Someone ought to tell him that lawful gun owners will only comply with his order until the next killing. After that, he'll know that his order is useless.

WHICH FOUR COUNTIES? PLEASE BE SPECIFIC. I live in this area and am all set to hunt on Thursday.

LOL! The Guv must have thought Commisioner Moose was getting too much attention, so he decided to try looking even more foolish!

I don't think that this has any legal force, and I don't see how it could have any practical effect.

I'm sorry but this Gov is a complete @$$ for doing this stunt

The Democrats, and Liberals in general, have a penchant for including innocent citizens in the crimes of lunatics.
With ridiculous actions like these, the political elite illustrate their contempt for law abiding citizens.
Now the Gov can say he had a hand in the solution as he spends tax dollars to take sacraficial lambs from the population and slaughter them on TV in the name of doing somthing.

On the popular children's television show, Dora the Explorer, children are able to prevent a character named "Swiper" from taking things by yelling 'Swiper, no swiping" three times. Apparently, the writer of this law believes in magic and that by saying "Sniper, no sniping" he can prevent a lawless person from committing a crime. On the flip-side, he may have enacted the temporary ban to cut down on the false alarms among a hysterical public. But bows and arrows? Makes no sense.
